  1. ...when time is of the essence (limited schedule), and this will be my first time in there.

Let's say...a TOP 5 to 10? For clothes and sneakers. Not stuff like "Gucci flagstore" though, more streetwear - but "superfuture" stuff, not hip hop.

Flight Club NY, DQM, Alife...? Is Century21 worth it?

    Thanks!

  2. Well, if you'd believe the "fashionistas" (aka GQ icon_smile_blush.gif etc) you'd have to walk around in something like a pair of these (Polo R.L.):

I kinda like these by Lacoste:

On the other hand, you can spend $350 and get a pair of these from Dolce & Gabbana... NOT

Or close to $400 (sheesh!) and get these by Dsquared2...

  3. Sorry to bump this old thread, but is there any place online to get any of these from? Like the hitop in darkblue/red (or oriental blue / chinese red I think it is), or the one in white/green (+pink)?

  4. Believe me, the first jeans pic where the fit is all f'ed up is supposedly the 'next thing'. Baggy and loose fit upstairs and an ultraslim leg, also worn as low as possible so the look is emphasized. Other designers such as Dsquared2 have them too. You won't catch me in these, though, I think it's the most ridiculous thing I've seen in a while.

  5. It's getting a bit too chilly and slippery around here, so freezing (and/or sliding) my ass off in sneakers just isn't an option. But every year I seem to have the same problem - what to wear, without compromising my style. Some Timbs might be an option, but they seem kinda played out. All the so called 'winter sneakers', or hiking boots just seem wack all the way. The only thing I can think of is some 'motorcycle boots', but I'd have to stuff my jeans into the them, and that just seems lame. :(

  6. top 5... not in any particular order... also these are not the ultimate albums, just some favorites

    1. a tribe called quest | low-end theory, or midnight marauders

    2. big daddy kane | long live the kane

    3. ice cube | the predator ("today was a good day...")

    4. brand nubian | one for all

    5. mos def & talib kweli | black star

  7. Just a side notice... but how can you be "rocking" your mom's car. Or Volvos for that matter. I'm sure you guys are not those kind of people, but I've always laughed at folk who "pimp" their middle-class, middle-management cars. Big flashy rims (or any other modification) on a Volvo is just plain wrong.

Me, I trust my two 10.5 sizers and pubtrans. Sucks, I know, but whathca gonna do. I've never had a car in my life, I'm now 25. I skipped the teen crappola phase and now I'm too proud (read = old) to be driving in some wack 80's Datsun (because that would be the only thing I could afford).

  8. Complex is FAR from worse that's out there. Maybe dudes here are dissing it because it's (*gasp*) by Marc "the Anti-Christ" Ecko. I couldn't care less who's publishing it. Apart from the few ads at the beginning, they don't even plug Ecko. And it's not even THAT hip hop.

Even though the "interviews" of Hollywood starlets are usually lame, it looks great, the product guide is fantastic, and there's a great steamy photoshoot in every issue. Then there are funny little "articles" like sneakers featured on LP covers: useless, pointless even, but entertaining as hell.

  9. >"HI Berget. Im not to clued up on WE, I'll do some research. Are they kind of a sports wear vibe?"

WE Clothing is originally a Swedish skatewear brand, nowadays focusing on more broader streetwear appeal. Jason Lee likes 'em (well he should, he's a spokespearson). I think they have a store in LA. http://www.wesc.com/

Regardless of my views on tracksuits, I thought the WE/Adidas collabo with a reversible jacket was kind of funky:

  10. ^

Well, at least most of the time it seems so. Sometimes it makes me wonder who are they writing the magazine for. Every piece of clothing seems to be from the high-end luxury brands. Would it kill them to feature more affordable stuff. Style is not dependent on big fashion house brands and hefty $$$$ prices. It doesn't even often equal quality. But as far as the rest of GQ's style "advice" is concerned, sometimes I do find something that might give me ideas.

  11. The African vibe is cool, some of the tees are too. I wished you could get bigger previews of the Fela pics though :) even if some dudes would probably leech them anyways then...
