  1. Try to make your trip mission-based (which is what I did). Set some targets for yourself each day/each week etc. and try to achieve it within designated time. For e.g. find a cafe that serves the best coffee in the Daikanyama area... or track down a particular obscure brand within 3 days... it does sound a bit silly but when you have too much time on your hands, this can actually be quite fun.

I did a bit of that and then I shopped. Majorly. The rest of time is devoted to partying drinking. : /

  2. Try obtaining a copy of Where to wear London (www.wheretowear.com). It has 90% of the coolest shops around with suggestions of where to eat too!

The other 10% are not listed usually, and includes places like Hideout and Busyworkshop which I'm sure you can find the address somewhere online.

I'd highly recommend Dover Street Market, located on Dover Street. Comme des Garcons plus Undercover and that sort of thing. Prices are sky high but worth a look coz it's a v. interesting building.

For girls, I'd highly recommend Stella McCartney on Bruton Street; v. pretty store with even prettier clothes. Hope this helps

  3. Yes, the original one did shut down, so there's a busyworkshop void at the moment.

Besides the shops mentioned, there are quite a few shops that still stock bape stuff, if I remember correctly, there are a couple in Update Mall at Tsim Sha Tsui, and more in a shopping Mall called Causeway Bay Plaza or a similar name at Causeway Bay. Beware of fakes though, coz I see fake trainers and things from time to time. Rest assured, plenty are legit so happy shopping! Anytime also stock bapes and they're one of the oldest shops around.

Oh, btw, if you really need the addresses, I suggest you to buy a copy of a local magazine called Milk. They feature a lot of bape stuff and usually provide a list of stockist. It doesn't matter if you can't read chinese, just ask the hotel staff to translate it for you :-)

  4. I am providing HK info here; don't have the addresses but google shall do the trick:

I.T. (www.ithk.com) stock a really good selection of denims, so does supernova (www.supernova.com.hk), check their websites for addresses. They might also stock the brands you mentioned, so check website for brand list. Ooh, and I think Comme des Garcon's opened a guerilla store, Address: Back Exit of Unit 11, G/F, 18 Ka Yip Street, Chai Wan, Hong Kong

I.T. group has built a mini uraharajuku in Silvercord Centre at Tsim Sha Tsui, and shops include: A.P.C, Montage, GDC, X-Large, X-Girl, Tsumori Chisato

For gals, no girl can resist Tsumori Chisato, X-Girl (as mentioned), and CoiGirlMagic (which is on Paterson Street in Causeway Bay), and Levi's (I highly recommend a line they imported from Japan - Levi's Lady Style, which is v.reasonably priced and fits really well. Sizes go up to 28).

If it's big labels your gal's looking for, head to Lee Gardens (in Causeway Bay) or Pacific Place (Admiralty) for Louis Vuitton/Dior/Chloe and the likes.... but be warned, their selection is kind of crap (to me anyway, I live in London so perhaps the perception's a bit different)

If you want any more info, ask again :-)

  5. Let's see then... the current 'It' places I know of include Hakkasan and Yauatcha, which are chinese restaurants with the same owner. The latter one is a dim sum restaurant, which I think have the best dim sum in London (and a much cheaper option than Hakkasan, which is awfully expensive but the food is just really really good too).

For Italian food, I think Carluccio's is quite decent (and ok priced), and Paul which serves dessert and sandwiches and bread and is good for a quite bite, but then as it is a french thing you might want to skip that and save something like that for when you're in Paris.

If you're up for some Japanese/Korean Food, there are two moderately priced places which i think are rather nice: Sakura (make sure you try the sukiyaki, but it's v. busy and for dinner you have to make a reservation), Ran (Korean barbecue). If you fancy sushi, Dozoku off Carnaby street is so nice. I'd say the price is moderate but it also depends on how much stuff you order!

All the restaurants I've just mentioned are listed on www.london-eating.com, where you'll find maps and tel nos and addresses. Anything else you need to know just ask!

Oh, and let me recommend one more restaurant in Paris. l'avenue on 41 av. st. montaigne is the best I've tasted so far... although it once set me back for 50 euros for lunch. However I'd still say it's really worth it coz... by just mentioning the name i want to go again!

  6. Think you can try flying to Paris. I have not done this myself but if I remember correctly, no frills airlines like easyjet does flights to Paris for a really low price. If not, check other airlines at sites like lastminute.com where they offer some good deals.

Depending on what you want to do in London... if you're in for some good food, i can make some recommendations as long as you give me your budget

  7. I quit for god knows how long already... but from memory, these are the best:

Parliament (no, not the normal ones, i'm referring to the ones you can ONLY get at the duty free in Moscow's airport)

Garam (clove cigarettes, taste so damn nice... sweet stuff)

Davidoff regulars (the stuff i smoked the most)

Lucky strike blue (avail in Tokyo; tasted like nothing which made it that much more interesting!)

  9. Honestly I think no other jeans really compare to the Dior Homme ones. Try saving up for them instead as no two brands will have the same cut or wash for their denims.

  10. Try No.1 Beijing Road (not sure whether it's the right english name for the road) in Tsim Sha Tsui for a really cool bar called Aqua Spirit. Panaramic views of Victoria Harbour. :) Think there's also a celeb hangout calle Hu Tong 2-3 floors down Aqua Spirit. Btw, as you may have noticed, No.1 Beijing Road is a commercial building.

As for shopping, Silvercord Centre in Tsim Sha Tsui has lots of Japanese Labels plus an I.T. store which are all worth checking out.

  11. Have you read the August issue of Nylon? They might have some info on the jeans. I like my paper denim rippers but they are getting boring by the day. Try frankie b's, I think they are good. Also if you can be bothered, there's a guy down San francisco that does custom made jeans called Henry Duarte ( i wonder how much they costs though)

  12. Hey, I didn't look at the pictures but from his replies the shoes are definitely fakes. If they are real, and EVEN in they are taken directly from the factory, they will come with a box (unless someone stole them). Besides, the stuff he said seems very familiar, and I suspect I have read an explaination like this for a fakes auction on eBay about half a year ago.

Be careful, and Dolo, I agree with you.
