Havent grab any FO/PB material jacket. Mostly because many on market are damaged and I'm very worried about the durability of this material as a "shell". ppl from gore themselves says it's a rather fragile material designed for cycling/running. Prob E won't make more with FO in short term but that J1A-FO def looks great.

To me, P38E seems more like a variation to fits different needs from original P38GT , which is designed as an overpant for ppl living in colder or rainy areas. I think it's ok to say many other pants can be wear as "Overpant" if it fits the environmetn and your needs. I used to wear slim insulation pants under P30A,P31A over last winter. In this case the outer layer don't really need to be 3L water proof material but something windproof and water repellent based on my local weather condition. P38E is just another choice E provided to ppl living in warmer area, who can use the vents over summer seasons and probably wear slim insulation over colder seasons.

Yeah I have plenty of room on waist and cuff area. I consider this as a spring/fall pants but I prefer to wear slim insulation like nike pro over the colder days so it should be fine. Tomorrow looks very cold so I got the chance to try it out.

Just recieved the P38E, few things I'd like to share. I got size S but fits very close to size M, which is my usual size. Elastic cords works amazingly, wish to see more pants using this in the future. Would be better if having some small pocket to secure the cords instead of flying around my waist. Don't really like the position of hand pocket, should be better if move to front a little. Also the entrance is WR zipper, that thing hurts in colder weather. Cuff zippers don't come with a liner like P10,P38GT does, they touch your skin directly, def wear higher socks in winter season. Position of large pocket is lower than the one on P30,P10A or P31A. So the phone pocket is harder to use.(probably I got short arms The vents are great design, tensionzip keeps it in a wide open position, def feel breeze in hot summer. However I can almost see my underwear through the mesh...better open only 2/3 of it. It's my first E fabric piece, feels more breathable than DS. Only drawback, it's a cat hair magnet, needs to clean everyday.

P38E seems to be anther everyday wear pants for me. The tensionzip vents could be very helpful on hot weathers. Didn't cop the P36 but i guess this works the same way.

I will not worry about that. After last restock I believe the demands on P30A are nearly fulfilled. I don't see any reason this new drop will sold out instantly. Also I personally feel that this new variation does not have that much hype as it's first show 2 years ago. P38-E looks more interesting than P30A this year for me.

These "new" foil material might looks better in smaller size like 3A-MK or MZ series as adding some details to the single color bag/jackets. But making a big bag like 3A5 with this repeated pattern all around...idk they looks bad to me.

Agree, the first thing come to my mind is undercover daybreak. I wounder how this exoskeleton structure on back feels/ works. Looks like it may adds some support to your heel... but for a low top shoe it might bring little or no actual help? Anyway it's still good to see some new shoes from E.

Probably it's a way to differentiate the brand from others using similiar/same material from schoeller? Though ppl love acr will still buy them, but for new users they may compare with brands with less markups. Using customized fabrics so it's harder to make comparison idk.

J28-WS First Impression Got the J28-WS a few days ago and I want to share my thoughts about it. Hope it will help people figure out whether is it worth the $3K resell price. First I would like to start from the difference between the older GT version and the WS version. Convertible collar In my opinion, the older GT version collar design, along with J28Ks and J28-E are aesthetically better than the new convertible collar on J28-WS. The 3D collar in previous ACR jackets, especially the one J28 used can provide better structural stiffness, which gives better support to magnet velcro. Storm Hat The newly designed removable storm hat replaced the original storm hoom which can be stored in the outer side of the 3D collar. This new hat/hood hybrid design is believed to be the one from J1E-GT experimental jacket. I personally like this new design despite I wasn't a big fan of bucket hats. With the characteristic of PA windstopper material, this hat is ultralight yet durable. The hat is taped so we can expect better water resistancy. It also can be worn as a normal bucket hat if you pack the hood parts inside. RainDrop [aka thigh shield / walking accelerator/ Dik cover] I believe this is the first length adjustable design in an acronym jacket. As you can see in the look book, these two pieces of single layer WS fabric are folded and stored in the inner side of lower hand pockets. Functionally, it’s a good design and should be used on more jackets in the future. However I’m not a fan of how it looks especially when you are wearing wide pants with large detached pockets like P30, P10A and P31A. Next I would like to share some of my short term experiences of this jacket. Ultra lightweight, an ideal everyday outer shell with balanced water resistancy and comfort. Beautifully designed and well functional triple front pockets can be accessed easily with single hand on driving. No need to open trapped WR zipper pockets under your seatbelts (if you have tried that on recent J1As you know what i’m talking about, pure pain) Storm hat introduces more variability in head protection under different weathers. Can be easily packed & stored in a front pocket. It’s also taped, I’m expecting to use it with other GT jackets. The short zipper added as part of the convertible collar is very likely to interfere with the main zipper, basically they block each other. It happens almost every time I wear this jacket. I have to pay extra attention to this problem all the time, which should be found and fixed in the testing progress. Pics attached below explain the problem. RainDrop curtains are hard to fold back to the inner pocket without a flat surface. Your ass is completely out of protection so better run fast in rainy day. An evenly wet pants brings no problem, but if only a wet butt… Attention: EXTRA FAT sleeves. I have only seen something similar on J79TS before. Still lack of expansion zip for the bottom hem. Would be great to have snap bottom near the wrist/chest part to wear in warmer area. Short summary, I only wore this jacket for a few days and did not regret the purchase. 8.5/10 satisfaction for this jacket so far. It’s a J28, one of the most popular models, and it’s made by WS. That makes it a must have for me, but it still comes with some issues like the zippes, and controversial looks with raindrop deployed. Some pics for reference: Fit with P30A, hat removed Storm hat- individual Raindrop-outer side Raindrop-inner side Raindrop-stored in inner pocket Zipper system-Interference issue

Uniqol shortsleeves with airism fabric probably a better value choice in my opinion. A $400+ shirt maybe not a good choice for most people.
