The buckles are working well. Starting to build my own 3A bag. Anyone know where can I get the TEC-SYS webbing? And that shining black x-pac fabric?

Made a small black foil pouch (12cm x 20cm)  for my girlfriend back in April and will say that it acquires the patina depicted on the site quickly and easily. Peeling of the clear top-layer laminate follows soon after and that is when patina transitions into degradation, but remains superficial -- the weave beneath maintains its integrity very well. That said, the OG xpac still reigns supreme in my book; my 3A-9TS has seen travel to 8 countries and still looks and functions like the day I bought it. Really hope it makes a comeback.

    doesn't xpac fray though?

Would anyone here have experience emailing Acronym aside from their shop email? I'm wondering if it's in the realm of possibility to order a 3rdArm patch replacement.

I emailed them in August this year when my pull tab fell off for my 3a-1.  Someone by the name of Florian responded and shipped me a new pull tab so its worth a shot!

Received some items from 17FW and honesty I'm a bit disappointed and here are my personal feelings:

J28-GT: I have the old version and wanted to checkout he new one. Was hoping for a slimmer fit from pictures and previous speculations. The fit is the same as far as I can tell, but missing details like elbow tab logo (I know that's long gone), hood drawstring that shows up when stored (one of my favorite little gimmick), and I'm not a fan of the grosgrain sleeve velcro either...

J58-WS: also have the old version but need extra insulators for all the shells lol, nothing noticeable that justifies the price hike imo, let along some production defect I heard.

J64TS-S: have high expectation on this as they look good in the fit pics, but the sleeves look bulky around zip area for me. I'm also expecting the smaller (5mm?) zip for that, but it is big and not comfortable when wearing.

P23-S: I have to say CH and DS look nicer and drape better on these wide fitting pants...

for the j28, what do you mean grosgrain sleeve velcro. what is it on the old version?

Been in touch w 1kman via email, if anyone else is still in the same situation as me...

Unrelatedly, I have some leftover tec-sys style webbing from a project that turned out unsuccessful. It does not look exactly like the acronym stuff: see my comparison. 200cm in one long strip dm offers if anyone wants it.

Yeah this is true, i talked my local stores owner when i was there for the SS drop. They got sent an email. Seems that production is low enough that a lot of the later contract stores are not even gonna get any stock.

Time to hire some more peeps. Down to slave in a production facility and get paid in errolson merit stars and high fives

thats good. hoping for something new

sames.. when was the last time they released a 'new bag'.  would be rad if they started releasing waterproof items in like dyneema or something

bags don't come with sealed seams and also the zipper is not waterproof, so yes it's coated material but the construction itself is not waterproof.

Hey thanks for answering.  My question however was not on the construction of the bags but the fabric itself.  So if you had a sheet of XPAC and you poured water onto it, i know that the water itself doesn't seep through but was wondering if that was the case for laminat fabric cause it looks like laminated cotton.  From the looks of it it looks like it would be water proof for the most part until maybe it went through heavy wear which goes into my second question of whether or not the laminat flakes after a while or what it looks like after heavy use.

  12. hey everyone, have a question about materials.  Been reading that XPAC is basically waterproof and super durable.  Is laminat also waterproof?  Does anyone know what it looks like when its SUPER broken in? been seeing some pics of patina on some of them, but it doesn't look like worst case scenario.  Basically trying to get an idea of laminat's durability/waterproof-ness.  does the laminat on the cotton eventually peel off? Thanks in advance for any help!

since more pics were requested... bag with the modulars. 3d printed zipper pull. just diy'ed the strap. 2" > 1" conversion with QLQR. tried a few other pieces of hardware that werent doing a good job holding the strap so got an AustriAlpin cobraframe. ended up needing a new huge backpack for music gear too so got one from the same surplus store. would love to own a foil 3a-1 one day but this was about $200 for everything
