genuinely curious. is this what modulars go for? roughly 450-500 each?

Retail on these were around $200 usd each. Due to the scarcity of the modulars I would say they can go between 300-400 range, depending on the buyer and the seller. Someone correct me if I am incorrect.

  3. I am not an expert, but pretty sure duty is assessed on a per package basis so you should be fine. I've done it before and was fine. Duty on clothes is ~9% so even though ACR charges €39 for shipping, it should come out cheaper.

I have done this before and it is on per package basis. If you buy them bag and attachments separate you wont pay any customs fee's for the USA. Only time would be if you spend over $800 on a single package if I recall the amount correctly.

  4. Bringing this back to Acronym proper... is a 3A-6TS too big for an EDC? I am deliberating on the black foil 3A-6TS on ACRNM.com and silver foil 3A-5TS that ACRHIVE has on sale. My regular shit I carry is maybe books, a 15inch laptop, and a second jacket. I'm looking for a bag that I can audible to carrying more stuff with without being too unwieldy not filled up. Does anyone got the volume specs on either—or an approximation in beer cans?

Not sure about the specs but I struggle to fit my 15 inch laptop in my 3a-3ts. It give the bag an odd shape. You are in the right ball park looking at the bigger bags. Hope that helps a bit :D.

  5. Both now sold ,also have a white or black human hybrid project available size large

Is this the white Human Hybrid Tee? What does the Black one look like? When was this released?

I havent seen many ACRNM branded tees before. They dont seem to release them at all and rarely before, but correct me if I am wrong with that assumption.

  6. Do the topics of meetups ever come up here? I did a search and saw someone mention an acr meetup in SF. Anyone here live in Seattle?

Anybody in the NYC area let me know. Would love a meet up to discuss the brand. Relatively new and would love takes/insights/opinions!

  7. This is correct, duty is only collected on items priced $800+ and Acronym does deduct VAT for non-EU customers. Their shipping charges are kind of silly though so if you can, order from firmament (which offer free shipping) or another EU or UK site (and I know it's not always possible).

VAT is sales taxes, in Europe, it's included into the advertised price rather than being added like it's the case in North America

Lots of people I know do that, rent a PO box right across the border with a bunch of ppl. Or get someone to proxy for you, it's not hard to find. Canadian duties are ridiculous

Would it work if I made two seperate purchases so that the both order will be less than $800? Buy the 3a 3ts and then buy the two attachments in another order? I would have to pay shipping twice which I am not sure if it would be cheaper than paying the import tax/duty fees?

Let me know what you guys think!

Thanks man. Really appreciate the insight/knowledge!

  9. Someone correct me if I'm wrong, but I believe you should be in the clear if you're ordering the 3ts. Any international orders from the US under $800 are exempt from duties (I believe this changed earlier this year).

I'm not sure if Acronym deducts VAT for US customers, but even if they don't, the total on the 3ts after shipping comes out to under $700 - so you wouldn't face any fees/duties.

(as a side note - does anyone know if Acronym deducts VAT for US customers?)

    I think you are correct.

Was reading up on US customs last night after I posted and found this article about Customs Duty Information for US. Have not completely dissected it, but will tonight and try to get a definitive answer from it. Could some explain what VAT is and what the difference between it and duty fees?

    Thanks for the help!
