Yeah, I had to scroll back up to see the date after reading the article.

i wonder, have the people who are still giving advice like this ever worn in a pair of jeans? Or are they just repeating what they've heard or read? Two years before washing? If you've got 730 days of wear into a pair of jeans, odds are they're already destroyed. And dry cleaning?! How's that better or safer than soap and water?!

anytime I see or read about someone giving advice like this I think "amateur hour".

i think there definition of two ears of wear is more like two years of owning not 730.5days of wear

@FreeCharlesManson I usually hate that haircut on most, but you look like a badass. Also sweet jacket.

Thanks i cut it myself. My hair used to be the messy product of a buzz cut and 6 months of growth, i'm thinking about growing it long again like when i was younger. We'll see how i like that i might go back to this cut if i don't like it.

  3. A fit you guys might appreciate. Just bought a vintage Lee Rider from the 80's hopefully going to go full boro on the jacket, like the Kapital one. I'm wearing Reigning Champ Tee, Burgus Plus jeans, a Pigeon Tree belt and Red Wing 2955.

I think that the Blue and Green method calls for the front and rear waistbands to be aligned before measuring...

guess i can't read not sure how much it would change the measurements

What size are those S710XX? The waist measurements looks small, do you measure the jeans just laying them flat naturally or do you allign the front and back waistband?

Also, the inseam seems kind of short. Were these hemmed?

tag size 30 i measure Blue in Green method lay jeans flat naturally  measure across waistband then double. they were hemmed about 3cm. the waist has already stretched about 2/3 cm with minimal wear. if it matters i'm about 180cm 64kg

Can anybody comment on the cotton on the current lot of 710xx? I had a pair of these back in 2013 and remember them being literally perfect... not sure what lot number it was back then... just looking to see if samurai has made any major changes

I just bought a pair in Tokyo lot 19 the denim feels super nice hairy and soft. not sure about the cotton stitching haven't worn them long but i haven't noticed any issues i posted some pics earlier

My samurai chinos are made of 15 oz silver selvage super stubby fabric that feels like denim. That sets them apart from normal chinos (maybe even doesn't make them real chinos) but when you see and feel them you'll know why the are on par with jeans, quality and price wise.

i think it just needs to be cut like chino's to be chino's. i don't think the fabric matters, aren't most chino's some flavour of cotton twill fabric like denim?

I own these but they don't fit nearly as good. These and the Full Count pair you posted in the other thread look great!

Thanks I'm pretty satisfied with the fit on both as well.

Definitely a perfect fit, are these the standard 19oz s710xx?

yes i really like it the hairiest denim I own, makes it nice and soft

Perfect fit! Those look great, hope you enjoy 'em. Definitely won't get 8 inches of shrink out of the inseam, it'd be terrifying if you did.

yeah i was super confused/surprised when he said that, i know enough that jeans shouldn't shrink 8 inches wasn't willing to risk it given these are my first unsanforized and i bought them in japan

  11. picked these up from Americaya in Ueno on a trip to Tokyo. I'm really impressed with how hairy and comfortable the denim is. not sure when I'll get around to wearing them seriously because i want to fade my fullcounts first. i was playing with many different cuff styles because i'm not sure how i want to wear these yet. i'm pretty happy with the fit of these jeans because the thigh is so much wider than all my other pairs and thee taper is very comfortable. if i haven't grown by the time i start wearing these daily i might wash again with a machine dry in order to shrink the length and soften them up. the Japanese man said they could shrink up to 8inches not sure if that's happened to anyone but i imagine he meant cm.

  12. Reviving this thread after my recent visit to Tokyo bought a pair of Burgus Plus 770ZR, these are one wash but i did give them a warm wash once i got home. I wanted to buy the black Sugar cane jeans but they were all around 4-5cm too short. not too impressed with the denim on these they feel more rough than all my other denims, as if the yarns they used were somehow sharper. It's not the biggest problem but it's noticeable. i do appreciate the arcs and the sakura embroidery. Burgus Plus arcs are one of the few brands that i feel aren't directly inspired by Levi's

    measurements:

    waist: 78cm

    front rise: 27cm

    back rise: 35cm

    thigh: 28cm

  13. I visited the Evisu shop in Ebisu when i was over there and that place was full of surprises, especially the denim. They sold a lot of strange stuff that surprised me golfing clothing/accessories, fishing lures, and fine suiting. I didn't really know too much about Evisu before but their denim was super nice I would've considered buying if i hadn't already bought a pair of Fullcounts.

the first time i saw these on IG i swear they were april fools jokes, I'm pretty sure that around the time they were released, but after looking at their account more the more serious they seemed.  Not the kind of sock for me but i know some accounts on IG that would probably go crazy for these... #rgtforeveryseason #rawfie

  15. finally getting around to assembling my album of new denim i got when i was in japan, with pre/post measurements, didn't take man photos around the city and stores wasn't about to go full tourist. I was in Tokyo for a week and i got to see most of the places i wanted to but i did miss some, like the samurai store and the PBJ store. it was a really cool place very easy to get around once i knew where i was

Drove through Saskatchewan today.. only the 2nd time that I have ever been through the province. Very long, very flat...

I can't wait for the day when my relationship with this province is only a place i drive through. Straight roads surrounded by grass have been my normal for too long

Reminds me of a post I saw on Reddit a little while ago. A guy ironed artificial creases into his 501 STF because he wasn't seeing progress after two months.

I member a post where a guy duct tapes the inside of the outseam so he gets aggressive stacks like that

    Worn for: 3.5 Years
    Washes: 27
    Repairs: 6

I’m finally retiring my Stevenson 727 jeans.  They have 3.5 years of constant wear, 27 machine washes, 6 repairs (at SESF, SEPDX, SELA, and I hand-repaired them twice while in Mexico).  I love these jeans, everything from the super functional curved rear pockets to the way every stitch and fold ages is pure perfection.  Retiring a pair of jeans that you’ve worn for almost 4 years is a rewarding experience.  Going into that new jean feels both jarring and exciting; for the first time I’m going from one jean to another and they’re both made of the same denim but with slightly different details and a different fit.  My next jean is Stevenson’s 714 Valencia model.

Inspiration for my new fullcounts thanks for sharing
