    I’d go for a 32 I think, what’s your actual waist size?

    A bit under 32”.

Edit just measured - actually a bit under 33 actual measured waist size.

  2. I’ve decided preeeetty much that I will pull the trigger on a pair of sd103 as my next purchase, but I’m struggling a bit with sizing with SDA. My fav fitting pair of jeans are my much loved TCB 60s, and as far as I can tell, the 103 share quite a similar cut, just a cm or so higher rise. But I’m sure I’ve read that sda shrinkage is quite pronounced. I’m wearing a 32 in the TCBs and could probably get away with a 31. Should I go for a 32 in SDA? Cheers

    What's the instagram?

I was in China recently and tried to get some Red Cloud but it was harder than I would have thought.  I know of the Taobao site but shipping would have taken too long.  I did get Raymon's wechat though so I am going to try and order some now that I'm back in the states but I will have to figure out the fit.

    It’s redcloud423

It’s holio, holio, holio cornolio! Welcome back.

It is. I am corn holio. Thanks. Been loitering on and off. A couple of pairs of jeans simultaneously came to the end of their useful lives. My TCB 60s now spring a new hole every time I wear them, and my Norman Porter NP01 do likewise. So I got a pie of baihe jeans from Ali express as an experiment. As experiments go it wasn’t a success. My daughter summed it up best ‘dad, are you wearing skinny jeans? Please don’t ‘. So that leaves me back in the market. Considering my options and red cloud are on the list. Anyone? Anyone?

I'm currently writing the new Marmite advert:

"Looks like shit, tastes like shit too. Does exactly what it says on the jar"

looks like shit? Well... maybe after a heavy night on the guiness, but if you're shitting like that on a regular basis I reckon you could well have a perforated duodenal ulcer...

  8. ^ yep - what he said. Butter some toast and then put a thin scraping of marmite on top. This reason for this is twofold. Firstly, this is the classic way to eat marmite, secondly, if you discover at your first bite that you hate it, you've only wasted some butter and a slice of bread ;-)

edit - fit looks great by the way

  9. Ok, turns out that was my final post. I'd hoped to get a few minutes to take a walk around the 'city' where I work, which is called Ely, but no time last week. Jeans are now in the hands of TNT on their way to NYC and I fully expect and hope to see some evidence of them spending some time in trump towers while they're there ;-)

  10. Crap. I think I just negged a post because of my fat thumbs. Can't tell who or which post because I'm to stupid but if it was you, my apologies.

  11. I have 3 overcomer pocket tees and the quality is very good. They're a little shorter than the average t, but you can't argue with the materials or construction. I was going to pull the trigger on some jeans but couldn't bring myself to because the denim looked a bit featureless and boring on the taobao page, but I see now that I was wrong.

  12. Nearly final update but I should just say a quick thanks to all involved in organising this tour. The 20s have been a lesson for me in getting me outside my denim comfort zone. It's been an education to wear a genuinely loose fit and a very retro denim. I'm not sure that the loose fit is really for me and my skinny pins haven't really helped out any fades on these, but I've enjoyed wearing something a bit different for a while. I've been travelling quite a bit with work so spending a lot of time in cars and plane seats and I'm grateful to be getting back to belt loops. Anyhow, last week I was in holland for work but got to spend a short visit with a friends microbrewery. Great beers and good times. Shameless plug for the brewery follows. The jeans will go in the post to NYCsurfer very soon. I will post pics of the 'city' where I work as my final post but that will be in a few days time.

  13. So, my commute, when I have to make it, takes me into an area of the U.K. Known as the Cambridgeshire Fens. It's an area north of Cambridge, which has been drained and lost to the sea many times in it's history. Most recently (and permanently) was it's draining in the early 19th century. It's fertile land and so is heavily agricultural. I drive a black car, but it may as well be brown for filth of the roads that I have to use. Anyway, it's a strangely desolate and featureless yet occasionally attractive landscape. I've heard people talk about 'big skies' but it's only when I visit a properly mountainous area that I realise exactly what that phrase means. You can usually see a very long way in the Fens, so on a misty morning, the texture brought to the landscape by the mist is a welcome change. Sorry for the mishmash of colour and black and white. Anyway, the 20s are very much at home here since most of the people I know in this area are farmers and so live in their overalls anyway. Braces and baggies don't raise any eyebrows at all.

  14. Another weekend, another day trip to London. Took the boy to the Lego Shop in Leicester Square whilst my daughter and wife went to watch a play. Caught the back end of an anti Trump rally with the youngster. He thought it was fun, I used it as an opportunity to play with a new app I got called Lenka, and got some reportage style black and white iPhone shots.

Relevance to tour - was wearing the 20s...Daughter asked why I have taken to dressing like 'someone from Back to the Future 3'...

  15. Inexcusably crap pictures to follow, but really in the interest of demonstrating the braces fit of the 20s. Now the high waist reveals itself in earnest:

    Cowboy / farmhand styleeee

Rear fit. What can I say? Obviously my arse was hungry.

  16. ^ Mr Volvo you are too kind. In fact the last picture was taken with a real camera and real old fashioned film. old skool.

With regards to my lack of cowboy style pain threshold I must apologise. I spend a lot of time sat on my arse in my car, and the stupid seats might be great for going round corners fast, but the hip hugging side bolsters (or whatever they're called) are not 20s jean compatible... I feel so ashamed.
