  1. in london for the weekend only. borough/camden/shoreditch markets, worth a go? if so, which?

plan to drop by endclothing/DSM too, anywhere else?

Highly reccomend the spitafield flea in London on thursdays, for your next visit.

Otherwise co-sign on hostem and maybe broadway market for food,

make sure to check Donlon too (broadway mkt) and Claire De-Rouen (soho) if you happen to be in those parts, BAO and Spuntinos in Soho are great for food too, maybe the new OL store and Oi Polloi (kinda wack).

ICA are launching an exhibition / live show with NTS this weekend too, should be good.

  2. Massive one near On Nut, didn't realise there's another?

Here for another 2 weeks and looking for some interesting bits to do at night with my girlfriend,

maybe some small, intimate bars, weird dive bars or low key jazz clubs if you / anyone here knows of any?

Ideally local / non touristy stuff, heavily avoiding khosan road etc.

Also, just a note for people coming here, I'm staying in a spot called TENFACE and it's fantastic,

quite central and incredibly affordable, beautiful rooms too. Best place I've found since coming here.

Chinatown is another recent find which is good, visually quite a lot to take in and a great place to check at night. Found a great dumpling spot and tonnes of weird / good street food, one of the most interesting places I've seen so far.

  3. Find it strange seeing so many suggestions here to stay in Nana / Patpong,

both horrible areas that should only be visited if you're looking for prostitutes.

I find Thonglor, Ekamai and other parts of Sathorn much nicer.  Currently staying in Nana for a short period of time and finding it quite difficult, nowhere to eat, decent coffee shops, or nice places to be found anywhere, if anyone does know of any please let me know, street food / healthy-ish stuff ideally, I'm mainly looking for thai stuff / japanese not burgers / german / western etc.

Anyway, I'm here for 3 months for work and am looking for some good vintage stuff,

similar to some of the better stalls in spitafield market, maybe on a mistermort / procell vibe,

ie: weird tee shirts, dungaree's, levis, old band tee's,some french stuff, and maybe some old branded stuff.

If anyone could point me in the direction of some interesting or unusual vintage shops would be incredible.

Also just a note for any photographers, on the ground store of MBK there's a fantastic photo shop called fotofile,

with a great selection of film / analog equipment, also a great, affordable lab in Ekamai called IQ (one of the best in thailand).

    - update

Did a little exploring the other day and found some decent vintage shops in Ekamai, soi 10 in the ekamai mall. There's a record shop. second hand shop of mostly shirting with some well priced Comme, Agnes B, R. Newbold, Ralphie etc. A little place next door with some great old band tee's, odd hats, levis etc and a place up front with some nice boots, loafers etc. EM mall is pretty weak but checked out Beams (average) and a few others, there's a shop next door selling PAM, Norse, YMC etc. if that's your thing, and on the other side a shop with a really good denim selection and lots of brands like ironheart etc. Still looking for more!

  4. Over late march for about a week, would be great to get some recommendations on some interesting bits to do, decent flea markets, vintage stores, places that specialize in old french and Japanese stuff, and just weird / off key things to do in general. I remember seeing images of an old abandoned observatory on top of a hill with an amazing view of Berlin, anyone know about it / anything similar? Would be much appreciated. Also, the last time I went I was Loftus Hall for Mano Le Tough's monthly party, was pretty amazing, any decent club recommendations (nothing too industrial) would be incredible, thanks.

  5. Got an all black Lumix GM1 while shooting some low light documentary stuff in Asia,

Originally bought it just because it was super small and looked great, but it's an incredible camera.

Now I carry my Leica M6 and a 35mm point and shoot for daytime shoots and the Lumix for Night / Low light stuff.

Some samples from the 3 months I've had it below, all shot on automatic / unedited. Would highly recommend it.

  6. Angst, from 1983, also known as Fear or Schizophrenia.

Received an X rating when it was originally released which led to it being banned from several countries.

Possibly some of the best camera work / cinematography and acting I've ever seen, great soundtrack too.

Gaspar Noe regular cites it as a massive inspiration which is super apparent when watching.

  7. I'm going to London for 5 days, can you advise me about, pubs, clubs, galleries an restaurants ?

Saatchi, Whitechapel gallery and the Tate are always worth a look, fave restaurants as of late are Koya, Toconoco, Spuntinos, Ritas and a few others. For clubs, Dance Tunnel generally have good lineups, maybe check out Boiler Room, see if there's any NTS parties on, good stuff in the basement of Ace / Jaguar Shoes occasionally also, I would strongly recommend avoiding Fabric and XOYO as they're generally crowded and full of cunts, best way to check for decent raves / clubnights is just to keep an eye on here - http://www.residentadvisor.net/events.aspx?ai=13 . Spitafields flea market is on a Thursday and a nice place to pick up some vintage gear / interesting nick nacks, Soho is an interesting place to look around with the best restaurants and a decent selection of stores, like APC, Folk, Supreme, Other Store, Adidas, Size?, Uniqlo, Tonnes of Vintage and DSM nearby.

  8. Rewatching Requiem For A Dream and checking out three new ones, I find it super hard to track down good films but Les Amants Des Point Neuf (Lovers On The Bridge), Dogtooth and Ghostdog, The Way Of The Samurai were all fantastic, highly recommended.
