My legs are pretty short though and inseams of 30 and over give me lots of stacks. if it's got a zippered leg and a small-ish leg opening that could lead to some interesting leg shapes

They use Japanese 1, 2, 3 sizing. I have to wear a 1 which in my experience is anywhere from 28-30. Going off of that 2 would be 30-32 and 3, 32-33ish. Rule of thumb with Japanese sizing is always to go by measurements though, things like Lad sizing always throws me for a spin

 

Out of curiosity, how tall are you?  I'm thinking of buy a pair off the boards (size 1), but it has a zippered leg, so altering is kind of out of the question.  I'm 5'7, and the measured hem is 30 inches, and I think I'm closer to a 28-29.  Thanks

Hey for those who have the track shoe, same sizing as Achilles? 

Just noticed that the XS Component Shirt (blk.) went from Expected This Month to Out of Stock. Anyone know if they actually came in? I've been checking pretty regularly; bummer if I missed them.

 

I had the stocking alert for the Composite XS, but I still checked every two days or so.  On a random check, the site said they had "less than five" in stock.  If i hadn't checked, I probably would have missed getting one.  Then about three days after that, I got the email from Arcteryx.  The same situation might have happened to you.

nope. The surface is not water repelling, due to the texture. So if you are looking for something waterproof you might skip the Composite, too.

 

if you want the "rainproof", go a couple hundred bucks up to the actuator, which is goretex. the composite like frankie four said is windstopper, not goretex, so its not waterproof either.

What does "weather proof" mean? I'm looking at the Isogon jacket and it says weather proof. Isn't it rain proof?

 

It's not made of gore-tex, so it won't be rain/water proof.  It'll be resistant to wind and rain, meaning heavy winds will cut through and you'll be good with quick exposures to light rain, but heavy rain will soak through.

I've found the sleeves to be slightly long too.  I'm 5'7 and wear an XS, and the arms are about a half inch too long.

I don't know if this should be posted here.  Just a quick question for those more savvy than I about shipping/the EU and VAT/sales taxes.

 

I wanted to buy off the Acronym website, but was worried about getting hit with monstrous duties (live in Canada.)

 

If I ordered from the Acronym website using a UK based proxy, would I be able to avoid both the German sales tax and the UK VAT?  (Sorry if this question is dumb...)
