Gotta agree, those lone wolf mechanic boots looks great once they crease up. Saw them when new and didn't really like the shape, but I've changed my tune.

^How did you size relative to your normal FH shirt/tee size?
Edit: Great fit!

^I sized up on a pair of 1105 and they fit fine, similar to the fit in the pic you posted of those 1101. The waist is definitely loose, though. If you size up to accomodate your thighs definitely be aware that the waist might not fit you snugly.

^ Well that sounds awesome. Is this only at the LA store or will SESF & etc also have a large stock of new Flat Head stuff?

Mine (size 32) after 4 months measure exactly as they did raw (33"). But I sized up one so they'd be looser for bike riding, so I didn't need to stretch them at all in the waist. The denim seems like it could accomodate at least another half inch or so if necessary.

Don't have the 47s but I've got 2009s and have tried on 47s in the same size when deciding which to buy. 2009s are slimmer in the top block and thigh. Lower rise too (not terribly low, though).

I spent a year in Kanazawa around 7 years ago. Wasn't crazy into denim at the time, so can't comment on that, but I do remember that on Tatemachi walking street (a cobblestone street that juts out from the main drag next to the McDonalds downtown) there are a number of vintage and clothing shops. Not much help, I know. If you want food recommendations I have plenty of those though!

I have 5 at the moment:
TFH 3009 - Really only wearing these at the moment, the below two have kind of taken a back seat. Love the fit.
Sugar Cane 2009
LVC '67 505
Taylor Stitch...don't wear these much anymore but they're OK.
Levis black 511s that I have to wear for work.
Gave away my APC petit standards to a friend.
Would really like a pair of Strike Gold 1105, Warehouse 660, or Samurai 0500 but I really don't even have enough time to wear the denim I currently own.

Already seeing some evo on my 3009s after only about 3 weeks of actual wear. They do indeed fade fast! Will post some pics after the first wash in another month or so.

Will they be available online too?

Got my 3009s back from being hemmed, excited to start wearing 'em! Fit is pretty good I think, only been hot soaked once so I'm expecting a bit more shrinkage down the line.

Made the trip in to SESF instead of ordering. Ended up going with a 32 in the 3009. 31 fit but had no room for shrinkage, though gave me a decent idea of what the size 32 will fit like after a wash. Stoked on it! Will post pics after a soak or wash and hem job.

Yeah, I agree regarding true waist size. Mine tends to fluctuate a bit anyway depending on weekly alcohol consumption! I'm gonna try the 31 first and if its roomy enough in the waist pre-soak, I'll keep em. I'm not worried about any of the other measurements--thighs would have to shrink something crazy to end up too small.

Hah! Oh well, I guess I'll just order a pair in 31 from Self Edge and exchange if they seem like they'll be too small post soak. Thanks guys.

Hoping for some sizing advice on a pair of 3009. Currently wearing a pair of Sugar Cane 2009 in size 29. Fit is perfect everywhere but the waist which is still just a little tight, maybe .5 inch. Still extremely wearable, just not optimal. My true waist is somewhere in the 31-32 inch range. Would I be looking at a 32 in the 3009? 31? 33 even? If anyone could weigh in, I'd appreciate it.

Just picked up a pair of 714s and they are the most perfect fitting jean I've ever put on. Well done Stevenson & Kiya/Self Edge
