  1. how i dressed:

how i would have dressed if i was ballin hard:

If anyone has some good links for how to draw clothes that'd be much appreciated

naoki watanabe's book is goat for fashion illustration. she has a lot of sections on how fabric drapes and moves and how you would demonstrate differences in cutting and fitting.

other fashion illustration books be all like, "this is a flounce draw it you piece of shit"

  2. Well, really because I liked how it looks when I bought it at the time. It's a S/S piece, and the down fill is pretty light, and after being in Malaysia for 5 years, I'm used to the climate, so I can wear it comfortably here the same way I can wear a blazer or a Mackintosh. Either way, a lot like Singapore, most of the places I go are air-conditioned, so I can really wear most of what I want, despite the temperature outside.

    It's for sale anyway  :P

tbh tho you have carte blanche to wear like silk robes and a sword or w/e but here you are chasing after sartorialist looks

idk feels like you're blowing an opportunity to get sufu kids thirtsy about malaysian looks because you're lusting after the life style of white ppl who have like lofts and leisurely bicycle to art jobs in apc jeans

tbh/tbf the internet fashion community rly needs some impetus for summer looks and absolutely does not need any more pics of dudes wearing four scarves and coats on jackets on sweaters on a stack of tissue jersey tshirts

  3. which gives you a perfect excuse to offload those pants while the association with m. b's name has any value whatsoever

teddy literally just showed you where the crotch on a pair of trousers belongs and you have the gall to stuff it up by your balls? no time, i have no time for this

  4. where does this critique come from, is it because throup is going to a label that you do not like?

really, the offer to control a brand's universe sounds incredibly tempting, very near working as your own label without the risk of answering for an utter commercial failure. any brand that wasn't whipping babies in the factory could probably sell me on that opportunity.

  5. that looks like student work and sucks a lot less than anything else in this thread

shorts are yohji, knits are SIBLING

    both are ostensibly pro

(i would have bought those yohji shorts in a diff colorway if not for $$$$)

  6. i'm just all or nothing about this kind of stuff and will refuse to patronize designers if i feel pangs of cognitive dissonance; plus boris doesn't have a women's line, nor cute boyfriend fits like rick's menswear, which makes this decision very easy

i am still waging an internal war over whether or not bvlgari's fragrances are nice enough to excuse their tangential involvement in worker exploitation via their connection to lvmh. sometimes i eat granola and i have a relatively small carbon footprint and i once had a pair of pre-nike chuck taylors because they were made of hemp.

speaking of nike im also having a crises about whether or not to snatch a cute gyakusou fit to bicycle in

  7. The problem with Boris Bidjan Saberi isn’t just that his work is the amalgamation of multiple more inspired, more talented designers, but that it’s also so cynical in that Boris is very much about commercial expediency and absolutely not about design vision, not about technical execution, and it is one hundred percent not about the wearer. You can see this when he takes Carol’s dead end concepts and just turns them into decorative seaming rather than an attempt to blend panels together, you can see it when he tries to ape the undersleeve paneling of Rick Owens and Carol Christian Poell but fails to incorporate the gusset, but most of all it’s so apparent when he takes these transparent moves to align himself with skateboarders and with hip hop, not by embracing their aesthetic and culture in a meaningful way, but by name dropping his favorite Madvillain album and saying, yeah dude, I totally used to skate in my teens!

That the hip hop community has wholly ignored him is a very good sign and makes me feel like I’m not the odd one out in reading him in this way, but that there’s pockets of the luxury market that have embraced him, makes me worry for these people and wonder what it is they’re trying to achieve in their consumption of fashion.
