AHHHHHH missed the edit. Been Wanting to pick it up but I'm in Canada...fuck

  4. That's it, more than anything. And, to make matters worse, their email response time is the worst.

And their shipping policy is fucked. I bought a pair of pants on last week and they have to ship it to toronto from another location inside canada before they can ship it to me....still waiting for my tracking. Why not just ship me my order directly.

  5. Anyone with experience with this brand? http://www.guerrilla-group.co

Had bad experience with their pre order, lack of communication/excuses, lied about shipping my order and then shipped it 2 weeks later without providing a tracking number. I wanted to try their stuff and I waited a month after the delivery date I was quoted. Ended up cancelling my order. some of the clothes look neat though

  6. Arc'teryx mainline AW15 is up.

There are again some nice urban techwear pieces such as Interstate jacket, Koda Parka and even more Veilance like Moresby shirt.

And as always, an outstanding selection of gloves and backpacks.

They dropped the khuno and therme which means no longer length jackets. pretty peeved as I was going to pick up a khuno this season. Koda is too short, 150$ more expensive and the athletic cut doesn't seem too thought out for a daily winter parka. -40C winters for me here means I need room for layering. : /

  7. New apparats have the brushed fabric which I think is worse than the previous version.

I really wish they wouldn't use brushed fabric for any of their clothing. It doesn't seem to hold a DWR coating that well/soaks up water quite fast, it always looks dirty and takes away from the look of the patterning, it shows wear really fast and it just seems to clash with the crisp clean minimal style that the brand is supposed to embody.

  8. Does anyone own an Apsis in Basalt? What is it like? Is it just better to get a monitor?

I have the windshell blazer which I'm pretty sure is the same fabric. The fabric is so light that it doesn't provide any warmth, I can wear the windshell blazer up to 30°C. Monitor seems more versitile, no first hand experience with the apsis though.

note: moitor doesn't have a double zip, which was a pain in the ass.

  9. Ink is right on about the galvanic.  Its a definite head turner and I've gotten more compliments on it than I ever expected it to get.  Yes its a bit fragile with the cotton faced gore tex, but I think that fabric makes it more versatile (doesn't look like you're wearing a rain coat when its not raining/snowing) Don't forget the galvanic is a f/w jacket tho with coreloft insulation.  For s/s, considering the other models didn't work for you, perhaps try the field jacket LT. I've never owned one but it gets lots of love on this forum.

30% off is not bad for a Veilance item, although sometimes you can catch a better deal at 40% or greater. If you find a jacket you really adore and get a lot of use from, the extra 10-20% seems to become negligible.

Sporting life had the glavanic on for 50%off the CAD price which comes out to about 490 US with the exchange. Great price for the muricans out there if you can get a proxy.

  10. That looks pretty bad.

In other news i got my ss15 voronois today. The fabric is quite a radical departure from the previous voronois. It's an ultra-lightweight nylon plain weave that is quite possibly the thinnest technical fabric i've ever laid eyes on. Imagine the thinnest nylon you've ever seen, and then thinner still. If the entire pant weighs more than 150 grams i'd be shocked. I'm not sure what to think of it, as the previous voronois' beefy twill had a nice sturdy drape to it that really emphasized the geometric cut. This fabric still drapes better than some other nylon pants i own, who drape more like yoga pants, but it's definitely a  huge departure from the previous model and honestly just doesn't feel as nice/classy. Wearing them just feels like wearing mainline bird hiking pants, really.

I was concerned when I saw the breakdown of the fabric about this. The bottom of the apparat has the same breakdown, I thought that it wouldn't be structured enough to work as a replacement for the old voronoi. However, I'm sure on a really hot summer day they would be quite comfy compared to a f/w weight fabric.

Also, would the talus grey monitor be a bad choice over the black? I like the colour but seems like it might look pretty dirty after a couple of seasons because it's so light.
