  1. @Dan_F You can get used brooks brothers on ebay for very reasonable prices. I was on the fence about suspenders during the TCB 20s contest and saw that used BB was the easiest, low commitment route to a decent pair. I ultimately cut the suspender buttons off my 20s for what its worth. There are also the cheap czech military surplus ones floating around. If you end up liking suspenders, then https://www.forholdingupthetrousers.com/ is probably the way to go for a premium upgrade.

The triple pleat looks really against those earth tones. Which pair of MFSC are those @dudewuttheheck? And you took this pic with your camera still in your hand!

Looking forward to learning how you find the Railcar compared to the 1st PAT-RN @Dan_F. I got a Railcar wabash when they first started making them and find it rather small and not especially contoured. I've actually been looking at the 1st PAT-RN as a potential replacement.

Just out of curiosity @Radiohead89 and @louisbosco why were you visiting this thread in the first place or at all? It's clearly marked; you didn't show up unawares. I could understand this level of involvement if the topic of pandemic masks surfaced in and crowded out other conversation in the blunders and nonsense thread. I don't visit the Watches and Denim thread because--no offense guys--but I think the relationship between watches and denim is tenuous at best and I don't wear a watch. I don't go to that thread to tell the people interested in that discussion that what they're invested in is frivolous or moronic by my standards; that would be petulant. Moreover, the mere presence of a pandemic mask thread on the forum isn't instigating a debate nor were the people that started the conversation here.

I don't know @julian-wolf...you tend to shit up the SC thread with totally helpful insights about the lesser known specimens in your collection and you frequently offer some very natural looking fit pics with a bit of breakfast in your hand or whilst out and about at the farmers' market. I mean, that most recent, terribly genial question you asked about the new SC x SE collab...who needs this crap? And let's not even get started on @Broark Neg rep sir!

Those types of Instagram posts and users seem to reflect a much different audience and much different corresponding values (compared those in the community here). The "flat lay" thing, especially with the dude sitting in the middle of concentric circles of his belongings, tries to testify to or champion his curatorial talents at the expense of what makes the clothes interesting or admirable. To wit, it's all about him and not about the clothes.

Fair question. It's tricky because the products are different and there's something to be said for the creative/design efforts of MF, not to mention that MF and SC target different customers. I'm not sure about differences in cutting & sewing costs despite the collaborative manufacturing efforts. Perhaps the takeaway is that BR and SC are indeed the incredible deals we know them to be.

Lot 64 LHT Cone...very slow & subtle fades, but such a cool fabric. Meanwhile, is the new Snipes chambray made with the same Buzz fabric as BR's own USN chambray? Nice details, but quite the premium price if it is the same fabric.

I had been saving a pair of 1101s w/arcs that I got about a year ago, thinking I'd keep them nice and only wear them for work events and social outings. Now that I'm working from the home office for the next 12 months minimum and no longer spending nights out on the town, that plan seems pointless. Thanks for the inspiration @irual, my 1101s are now officially in the weekly rotation!

There's only one article of clothing I own that's sure to outlast me no matter how long I live: this 19oz duck coat from SDA. I remember putting it on the first time--winter of '15-16, I believe--and thinking uh-oh this is actually going to hurt to break in. Favorite buttons of any item I own. Zinc laurels with copper shafts? (I'm not sure what that piece is called):

@Double 0 Soul Kid Koala...what a blast from the past! Ninja tune and Warp artists came through Chicago often while I was in grad school in the early-mid 2000s. It was a great scene in those days. I'm fairly certain I permanently lost some hearing in my left ear at an inhumanely brutal and amazing Squarepusher show. I've got a million more old stubs here and there, but here's a few:

^nice @ecsong187! I really envy the pocket bags on those midnight 64s. Not much noticeable happening with my LHTs yet, but I gave them a second soak the other day (warm this time) to see if there was any more shrinkage before hemming them and they actually shrank below/past the MF chart specs. Cone being cone everything stretched right back out after a day of wear. The inseam, though, is down to 33.5" so no hem needed, just a nice simple double cuff.

Unionmade carried them and JCrew also carried Shuttle Notes shirts a year or two ago as part of their "in good company" / "brands we like" cross-brand offerings.

Nice list @Suitedupmon! We watch Eyes Without a Face a few times a year in our house. Halloween night usually comes down to that or The Innocents (dir. Jack Clayton). Have you seen Wenders' Until the End of the World? Criterion released it on blu ray recently with a 287-minute version. I've not seen it before, but it's on the list to buy.

^ Duke's FW collection reminds me of the old Milton Berle male anatomy joke: he's going to pull out however much he needs to win. The real question is when is @Duke Mantee going to give us his write-up of "The Petrified Forest?"

@Smallrod I think the fabric is terrific; soft, smooth, and super interesting without being showy. I found the MF size charts to be pretty accurate for both pre/post soak. I'm a size 36 in Canes, Momos, TCB, etc., but I sized down to a 34 with this pair based upon the charts. As long as there's an inch of stretch over time, a 35-inch waist usually works pretty good for me. I was betting that the Cone on these would stretch, which it has. Also, I have pretty big calves; I think the other Lot. 64s would have been too narrow at the knee for me, but this particular Lot was cut more generously. Pre-soak / Post-soak W: 18.5" / 17.5" FR: 13.25" / 12.5" BR: 16.75" / 16" Th: 13.25" / 13" Kn: 10" / 9.5 Hem: 9/5" / 9.25" Inseam: 36.5" / 34.5"
