  1. All right guys, I have a pair of size 32 Left Field NYC Greasers. They're a mid rise jean with a slight taper. ~13oz Cone denim, raw indigo, sanforized. I got them recently, wore them about 3 days or so, and decided they're not for me. Here's the bad news: I got them hemmed to a 30" inseam, no chainstitch. I was overexcited and it was a hasty decision, so I know that makes them harder to sell.

Because they're so new, they have no fades/creases, etc.  I haven't soaked them. The measurements are as follows:

    Waist: 31"

    Thigh: 12"

    Knee: 8.5"

    Leg opening: 8"

    Inseam: 30"

    Front Rise: 11"

I'd like to get $125 shipped. These are $175 new, so if you need a 30" inseam, you're getting a killer deal IMO. I'll take paypal.

Feel free to pm me here

    Thanks.

  2. Just got a pair of heritage jeans yesterday. Very awesome jeans, denim is heavy, slubby, fits great, and relativey affordable. Only issue is the inseam shrinks to about 33". I wear a 30 so that's fine by me but it does seem like a big oversight. I'll report back with fit pics tonight.

Also, Blue owl is great. I bought them tuesday night, and they arrived to my door thursday morning, from Washington state to NY

  3. I wore a pair of Chippewas like these (but pre-LL Bean) for over 10 years.  They were great boots in every way, and held up longer than many more expensive brands. Plus, I think they look classic.

I can tell you that the longer you wear them the better they will look.  I remember that it actually took probably over a yearfor the leather to begin to really wear in, and it got darker and smoother as it went on.  In those days I did not know much about boot care, and just applied Mink Oil once a year or so (as my father used to do).  It worked well for many years, though I understand now that it might have been responsible for the eventual beginning of a split in the leather - though again, 10 years is not bad!

Not sure what you mean by making them more like work boots than dress boots. They look exaclty like work boots to me.  But you may want to try rawhide leather laces.

I meant dress rather than work.

That being said, I did polish them and don't like them quite as much, so I wont do that again. Oh well live and learn :P

  4. I was just going to get them done at the dry cleaners down the street. I live in the middle of nowhere, denim-speaking, and I can't justify shipping to wherever, paying $25 for a chain stitch hem, and then shipping back.

  5. Fit before hem. I think the hem should tame some of the stacking. Also excuse my fat ass.

What do you guys think? still not entirely convinced. I don't want to get them hemmed till Im sure.

  6. Hey guys, anyone know if/where I can get a decent Cafe Racer style leather jacket for under 400? I really like the Schott NYC one but that's about $550. This would be a gift from my mom and sister so I don't want to push the price too much. Thanks.

  7. Yea. Anyway im impatient so I'm wearing them now doing some yardwork and they're getting better so fingers crossed.

I'm gonna get them hemmed so once I do that I'll post fit pics.

  8. I woke up to the doorbell being rang today with my greasers from Fedex. Unfortunately, they're a lot tighter than I was expecting. The waist measures 30 and the thighs measure 12. According to LFNYC, that's a 31, not a 32. The thighs on these are pretty much skin tight. Any chance these will stretch in the thighs, or should I try again?

I can feel the waist stretching a little but the thighs are the issue.

  9. Took my first venture into decent boots last week and got myself some LL Bean Kathadin Iron Works Boots. Unfortunately (or maybe fortunately, depending how you look at it) I had to wear them in ankle deep mud and rain from Thursday-Sunday for 20 hours a day, so they look quite a bit older than one week right now (they did break in fantastically though!). I gave them a quick clean and a once-over with some cheap leather oil because it's all I had at the time and they were really dried out, but I'd like to do something to them to give it it more casual look, as opposed to a work boot look. Is it too late to do that, and if not, what should I try?

    Thanks.

PS- they are super comofortable, I'm definately converted from sneakers. I'm already looking at another pair of boots but I'm trying to show some restraint.

  10. Just ordered 32" Greasers, hopefully shipping is fast! :D

These will be my first pair of raw selvedge.

Edit- Fedex says itll be here monday... It's a 1.5 hour drive from my house to nyc. Damnit.

  11. I'm not exactly the biggest authority on all things left field, but I've heard that the current nisshinbo greasers are in the neighborhood of 17oz.

Yup but that was a limited run which is not being made anymore IIRC and my size isn't in stock.

  12. Christian, do you know when the 32" White Oak Greasers will be back in stock? And do you know if Settlement Goods & Design, in Houston, which is listed as a stockist, carry the Greasers? I might be making a trip to Houston for July 4th and if the time difference between me going and you restocking is short enough I'll be patient and try them on in person there.

I'd call them and ask myself but they're closed now and I'm impatient and lazy :P.

Also you have any plans for a heavyweight denim Greaser in the near future?

  13. They will stretch about 1 inch in the waist. If I was you I would go with size 33. No objections to pre soak. These are sanforized so you won't get much shrinkage, but I always pre soak. Sanforized or not.

Thanks. On second thought, I need to lose a few pounds, so I'm going to not allow myself to buy them until I can fit into the 32s. I need motivation quite badly :P. I'm wearing a belt on the 3rd notch which has marks on the 6th and 7th (last two) notches, so I must have had a 31-32 inch waist at some point.

  14. Hey guys I was wondering if someone could help me with a sizing question. I plan on getting a pair of Greasers, which will be my first pair of "nice" jeans in a few weeks when I start my new job, and aside from the waist, the 32 is almost exactly what I need. The only issue is I have a 33-34" waist, and the 32 is measured at a 31.5" waist. Other than that, the thigh, knee, leg opening, etc measure almost exact to a pair of Gap jeans that I have that fit me great. Should I get the 32s and expect the waist to stretch out that much? I have a pair of cheap Levi 559s that have measurements pretty close to the 33 measurements, and those are comfortable, but they are a bit too loose for my taste. Also, if I get 32s, will they stretch too much in the thighs?

And one more question, my plan is to do a pre-soak, with the intention of shrinking them a little bit and stretching back to the original size, and also to prevent dye transfer on my shoes and stuff. Any objections to this? I searched and not much in this thread came up.

    Thanks!
