  3. Whats wrong with Lane Crawford seriously, mainly getting locals just because they can give them a 2 days notice before starting an internship ( but managers from the upper house said their HR is awful ) ... anyway planning to go back for sure, maybe in March for two weeks and hopefully from June 'til I move somewhere else.

    I loved it.

  4. I never thought about this properly, but maybe I'll apply in few months inside the company where I work as a Sales Advisor to move to their HeadOffice - could be a good way to put a feet in the backstage. Anyone did this, any tips?

  5. This is the best advice.

Never limit yourself to yourself to one position this early in the game. Diversify. It'll help you stand out so much more.

Sure but as an internship - with a low pay if it is not where I live I cannot afford it, while im a sale assistant/advisor I keep doing my studies and for a real job I'll take whatever I find even if its not a position in buying, of course.

Working outside fashion is of course a good possibility for me and I already started to look - as fashion isn't the only interest I have, hopefully.

  6. What are you buying?? Clothes, fabric or production??

Cause all of these come with a knowledge learnt on the floor...

Clothes, and if I'm looking for it its because I had enough of the shop floor - with my last interview the buying department told me I had enough experience in this to allow me to apply for a buying internship.

Good luck, it took me five months to find mine. If you want to do womenswear give me a PM as I've seen a few internships advertised at the moment.

Im sending you one then, womenswear/menswear for now, both will do.

Are there even internships in buying? Serious question, I know a few buyers and none of them were ever "buying interns"

Yes they are, few of them, its often after graduation but I found one for my summer, visa problem occurred and here I am. It's quite recent, I mean 10 years ago it was not something to do as an intern due to the knowledge required.

  7. What do you mean your 'in' buying if you're looking for an internship in buying? You mean you'd like to get a start in buying?

Yeah thats exactly it. Why if you want an internship in PR you'll say I'm in ... ? Fashion ?

So I'm into buying and looking for an internship in Buying.

  8. I wish England/France were more open on the fashion world, more arty less moneyshit/businessschool wannabe .

I'm finally back in Europe and tired of seeing PR/Marketing Internship as if it was only these positions.

  9. Im waiting for informations from the company but the interview went so well, that she is going to open a position for me in the department and position I wanted ... but we only talked about working/student visa and I did not know about the trainee one (and she did not think about it at that time also) so I sent her an email and I'll know more later this week hopefully, but should be alright with the trainee visa !

  10. ^ thank you, I had a look around the web to find which could fit me best ... but the easiest way would be to visit them.

Another question, does anyone of you already tried to get a Trainee Visa for Hong Kong? How does it work to be sure to get it as an European?
