^ Get those abominations out of this thread, 17oz and over !!!
Just because you're a lightweight, with mere 25 oz jawns!

Ruedi , Good pictures , saw that someone is wearing Eight G in the your album.
That'll be me!
Aero Leathers were carrying them last year, and I think were the only retailler outside of Japan. They sold off a load of denim at the end of last year, and I snagged my pair then.
They're seriously heavy, but after a few days wear are starting to soften up. At first I was convinced they wouldn't be practical for two years.
Is it too late to consider a substitution?

This parecl shipping gives me sort of Christmas feeling and with Mega as Santa Claus. And even the snowy winter is still around you. The spring season has started in the Swiss low lands now
Mega Claus?

Drumad, the IH 1955 (supposedly back in stock soon) has large thighs.
Tender Type 132. You might fit into a 130 too.
Pike Brothers Roamer Pant. But check sizing.
Eight G 30 oz, if Aero Leathers have any left. They fit true to size, but shrink.
Lee 101Z.

Oh, so now you're working on the Heavyweight Leather Jacket Championship?

Told you fools that hat was awesome
Yeah, good thing I ordered one.

If anyone in the UK is looking for a cheap option, Libertys of London are currently having a sale in their denim section, and there are a few pairs of Naked and Famous Weird Guy Big Slub jeans going for £80, and they might have been reduced further since then. They're a 17 oz denim.
I'm not sure what sizes are available. I think that I saw a 32 or 33 and 36.

This afternoon I visited Leather Heaven, also known as Custom Leather, which can be found in Camden Lock.
The belts look good. The leather is thick and feels like it'll take on a pair of Mega Busters and win. Whilst there might be better made ones out there, I think that you'd be looking at spending a couple of times as much, and even then it'd be a marginal improvement.
Crispin's co-conspirator does some really fantastic two-tone belts. Sorry about the quality, but it's a mobile phone camera picture, and the colour is way off. The blue's more subtle, and closer to an indigo, but I couldn't quite get it right in the editor.

I would give up a kidney for that watch.
At £20,500, you'd have to give up more than that.

Hey, Megatron, you didn't tell us that you'd come up with a watch for the HWDC...

So in short, I'd say true to size for elastic, size one up for logwood, and possibly size one up for the other leather belts. Sorry it gets a bit confusing!
Thanks!
I'll see what Red Wing Amsterdam say, but suspect that their belt is a size smaller than I'd want.

Do the Tender belts match the trousers for sizing, barring the odd accident such as suffered by Youthxattak? Or should I be looking at sizing up one?
I'm just trying to figure out which to go for too. There's a Logwood one at Redwing Amsterdam, but I need to confirm if it's my size; the For Holding Up The Trousers collaboration belt; a red enameled S belt at Superdenim; and the brown leather keeper belt at the Trestle Shop.
William, please can you stop making so many variants, so I don't suffer from analysis paralysis...
Speaking of the Trestle Shop, how do the sizes on the flowerpot twill cap correspond to head circumferences? My noggin is 61 cm (UK hat size 7 1/2) around. I've got a feeling that corresponds to a size 4, but confirmation would be appreciated. Thanks.

If you're tying this into the Heavyweight Denim Championship then you've got the problem of delivery times. That starts in about three months, but the likes of Viberg and Russell have four to six month lead times.
Perhaps a better start date would be around September, six months after the denim championship has started.

I'm another minimalist:
- Denham Tapered (I think that's the model name)
- Levi's Vintage Clothing Oldest Old (probably about to be given away)
- Tender Blackout 130 (Tenue de Nimes special model - seams sewn in dark blue thread)
- Eight G 28 / 30 oz (on order)
There's not a lot that I'm desperate to buy. I'm planning on getting a pair of Iron Hearts sometime in the New Year, probably the 634 GR.

Bill, I like the Hickoree's 129s, but my legs wouldn't fit into them.
The fruit bowl is fantastic though. I'm having covetous thoughts...

Bobbo, if you're looking for a ludicrously heavy pair of jeans for the contest, Aero Leather are flogging off their last pairs of 28 oz and 30 oz Eight G jeans at £150.

There's only size 30 in the 28 oz, but 30, 32 and 36 in the heavier 30 oz. The 30 oz jeans appear to be about true to size on the waist, but will shrink by about 2" / 5 cm. I don't know about the 28 oz style.
Aero also have Tender Type 132 in at £165, which is a very good price for them. They're 17 oz. from memory, but you could always check with Rodeo Bill. If you're really tall then they're great because they're enormously long.

Other shops do run Tender cheap from time-to-time. Okiya had a couple of pairs the weld dyed jeans at half price in the summer, and I still kick myself for not picking them up.
Danny, I'd love a pair of the Steel Feather jeans, but my manly thighs are too big for them, and they'd be too short after shrinking.
I'm tempted to use the Eight Gs in the contest as a left-field entry. I've also got a pair of Tender 130s that would also work, and only been worn a month. My original plan had been a pair of the grey Ironheart 634s. I'll see nearer the time.

It's interesting that you mention G&G, since I would rather get a pair of those instead. It would take about 5 months and about $800 less than a pair of WK to be made. Of course G&Gs are not hand lasted, welted or stitched so in some ways WK is a "bargain."
A pair of the full fat bespoke Gaziano and Girling shoes will run to around £3K, which is somewhat more expensive than WK.

The museum is in Utrecht, not Amsterdam. That said, it's just under half an hour by train.
Unfortunately I'm not in Holland these days, so any trip will involve an excursion.

William Lennon anyone ?
big, small or tts ?
I take 1 size down in RW.
I visited the William Lennon factory last week. I normally take a UK 13 (US 13 in Redwings), and tried on the 78 or 178 style (same last) in a UK 12 and 13.
Their UK 12 was too small, and my toes touched the end of the boot. Their UK 13 was enormous, and felt loose. Libs in the office reckons that they run true to size, but I think that you could possibly size down half a size.
The B5 World War I boot feels a bit longer, but a bit narrower in the heel. I tried a pair on in UK 11, and it felt a bit smaller than the other boots in 12. Unfortunately there wasn't a larger size for me to try on! I've got a pair being made in size 12 1/2 (completely non-standard), and will advise when they arrive.
The best thing to do would be to give them a shout, and bear in mind that UK sizes are one smaller than their US equivalents.

I haven't seen Lightning Magazine, but there's a faded pair on the Rakuten product page.
I'm curious to see how they turn out too. They seem to shed colour easily. There's a white strip on the cuff already (see picture thread) after a couple of days wear.
They've softened up after soaking and being worn a day or two. Though the first time I had them on I was convinced that they were too heavy to be wearable!
