  1. Anyone have any experience with these, or can comment on how they differ? Trying to decide between the two and any insights would be helpful. Are there slight cut variations? (SE doesn't post waist bottom opening measurements)...thoughts on fabric?

    thanks :)

I have the 19oz denim in the form of jeans and the SE collab jacket.  The denim is very similar, but I believe that the SE denim is fading faster.  It's tough to tell jeans to jacket though.  The collab jacket has grey weft so it will definitely have a unique color once it comes through.  From what I've seen on the IH forum the fit seems to be pretty similar.  I couldn't be happier with the jacket and I don't think you can go wrong either way.  Have you had 20 oz+ denim?  Both denims are extremely rigid.

  2. Bonneville Shoreline. But shh... It's not officially permitted, so it's just a "fat-ass" race, ie basically just 100-something people showing up and going out for a free run with minimal aid, all on the same course at the same time. :)

Ah, makes sense.  Not sure if you've run MId Mtn in PC, but that is a great trail marathon.  Oh, yeah and your Sammies are looking ridiculous.

  3. Nice work on the updates Mike

    Thanks MikeC.

The jeans are on their way to Bradl. Should be there any day now.

I really enjoyed wearing the denim. The jeans are really slubby and have a great feel to them. I like the cut as well. Not too fitted, but didn't feel relaxed (sloppy). The loose weave was very evident on the MC. The denim breathes quite well. It will be a nice pair to wear during hot summers.

Can't wait to see updates from north of the border.

  4. Hey Kiya. I stopped in SEA last Sunday while I was in town. Brennan (sp?) was great and helped me out a lot with trying on several different jeans, shirts and jackets. I ended up with RJB 105BSP in size 33 and IH SEXIH22TYPE III jacket in size 44/XXL. I also really like the brown hickory shirt (XXL is my size there too) and the IH 633 in 34. I was concerned that the 633 would shrink too small as the 34 fit perfect raw and the 36 was way way too big. So many great things going on there!

I had damn near the same experience in SF. Tried on a few pairs and walked out with RJB's. Couldn't be more happy.

If it helps. My SExIH jacket shrunk as expected. I used hot water, but but I was looking for a little more shrinkage. Before and after pics. The main thing is the body and sleeves tightened up.

  5. Looking for 2 pairs. One heavy and one summer weight

    Samurai 710xx or

    Iron Heart UHR-666

Strike Gold 1105 or any other suggestions with a similar cut. 14oz to 17oz

I tried on the SG and chose the RJB's instead for the light pair.  The  dirt denim by Trophy is awesome.  I had the pleasure of wearing them for the world tour last month and I would rank them very high.

I would go 666 for heavy.  I have the 19 oz LHT 666 and it's my favorite cut denim so far.  I don't think you could go wrong with any of those choices.

  6. The work week has been brutal. Beer o'clock need to be here soon. Aloha Sunday Hawaiian shirt was a bit optimistic for a rainy dreary day so I've got my IH shacket over top. I'm gonna wear these jeans hard for the last few days and pass the torch next week.

  7. It was supposed to rain all day so I parked the bike and took the MINI yesterday. Of course it was sunny and nice. Snow dusted the mtns, but nothing in the valley.

Not making the same mistake today. Chilly this morning, but lunchtime will be perfect for a ride.
