  1. Ordered a 16oz leather belt from Don't Mourn, Organize recently. Fantastic turn-around time, fantastic construction. And I'm seriously shocked by how thick this is. Only problem is I've had some cracking after only 4 days of wearing, and I'm a little concerned. Is this just a product of bending such thick leather? What can I do to prevent this? I've put some oil on it, but I'm not sure that will be enough. First picture is new, Second is right after oiling.

  2. PBJ 24-005 Initial soak + 2 washes. Maybe 14 months.

Contest jeans should be arriving soon, so these are approaching temporary retirement

    Pockets, though unused, are deteriorating:

  3. I would say go for the smaller size if you're after the tighter look, but be careful of over-shrinking. I wore mine for the soak so that the legs would shrink but the waist wouldn't (as much). It's the more painful option but I think it pays off in the end.

  4. Had a second go at making a phone holster - with much better results.

Stitching is a little messy on the right side - I had to sew loosely and tighten all at once otherwise the needle wouldn't have fit.

  5. Anyone able to give me some boot recommendations? I'm currently looking at Redwing Iron Rangers in amber harness or copper, but I'm wondering what my other options are? I would like to remain around the same budget and also keep the classic style. I am curious to see what brands you favor.

  6. My Momotaro Phone holster was absolutely destroyed so I decided to try my hand at making a leather one - just picked up some supplies from a local shop. I burnished the edges with a spoon, made the holes with a set of wood punches, hammered the rivets in on a cutting board in my kitchen, and applied wax with a hairdryer. For about 30 minutes, a simple design, and my first attempt at leather, I'm pretty damn satisfied with the outcome.

Might try it again but put the all of the rivets on the back; the leather sticking out of the side is my only dislike.
