  1. Is it true that Gore is, well ... more benevolent with giving Gore-Tex licences to Japanese brands (visvim, WM, OF, Bape...)?

In the west companies must follow very strict rules and test all their GT products and many of them lost their license over the years, I'm not sure if that's true with Japanese streetwear brands.

  2. I know bagjack and acronym bags are similar but not identical as have owned each

Does anyone else find it a bit weird (and quite sad) that there are people who own Acronym items without knowing much about the brand?

  3. @greencarman: I'm pretty sure it's the opposite, there is one Tilak jacket that looks like it was designed by Erolson for them, or borrows heavily from his designs. (from memory inthink the Evolution) The rest of Tilak's stuff is extremely well made but pretty much the same cuts as what Arc'teryx and Mountain Hardware make.

It is a well known fact (even around here) that Acronym does indeed design for Tilak and they share a production plant.

Most, if not all, of Tilak outerwear products in few last years have been designed by Acronym.

  4. Never heard about that, as far as I know they are both privately owned and independent companies.

Acronym is definitely doing design work for Tilak and they share some more difficult manufacturing processes, like laser cuts, lamination, taping etc.

  5. My only problem with Tilak is their bold red hindu-esque logo, I wonder if they can issue single pieces without their branding...

I'll probably email them about it soon. Loke is looking great but Ventile can be quite heavy, bear that in mind. I'm getting black Tourmalet vest, it also look like poor man's Acronym.
