  1. I have wonderwood and it lasts forever, not sure where you heard it doesn't. On my skin it's still strong after 8 hours. It does smell _very_ woody though, so it's more of a once in a while type of scent for me.

  2. I have the Shures but no longer use them. They were terribly uncomfortable imo and were constantly falling out. tThe sound is great, but the trouble wasn't worth it for me. I replaced them with Klipsch S4i's which I love and have decent sound as well. I only use in-ears while biking to-from work, so these fit the bill better for me. Also, the flat cable is more durable and gets tangled less often. If comfort's what you're looking for, go for the Klipsch. Otherwise you might want to stick with the Shures.

  3. Does anyone use their Retina MBP at a scaled resolution? I'm thinking of getting this new Macbook, but only if it doesn't look like crap while running in scaled 1440x900.

I have the 15" MBP and I use it at full resolution. I've tried running it scaled to get more screen space, but it's just not worth it once you're used to using retina at full res. If screen real estate is your issue, I'd suggest just getting the 15", you'll be disappointed running at a scaled resolution.

  4. Yeah, it totally depends on what you're trying to do. If you're only going to be watching at your desk (which it seems like bc you said a small monitor) then just go with HDMI. It's easy to just plug in and mirror your display. If you're using it in a bigger room, go with Apple TV and Airplay.

I personally have both. In my room I have a 27" HDMI monitor I hook up to my MBP for when I'm working, and in our living room the TV is hooked up to an Apple TV, so if I want to watch TV and be on my laptop on the couch I can do that too. It's also better since I don't have to worry about a cable going all the way across the room from the TV.

  5. Read Colorless yesterday. I found it really toned-down compared to most of Murakami's work, reminding me of Norwegian Wood. It had some interesting themes, but overall it was a pretty depressing read and, in my opinion, too much was left unresolved.
