How do you guys carry your phones with you? I’ve held on to my iPhone SE as long as I could. This and all my previous phones all fit in my front pockets but I’m afraid the iPhone 11 I’m getting won’t.

Still have an SE. I’ll probably use this until they stop updates for it as it’s the perfect size. I carry it in my back left pocket behind my bandanna/handkerchief because I’m not a big fan of phone fades.

  2. I don’t think I’m meant to have a pair of roys; this is the second time I’ve had the money but something came up. First time was replacing part of my sewer line this time was bills and replacing an exhaust. One day though, one day.

  3. Norman Porter NP02. Gob these around Christmas time from Grailed. They’re a size to big but they work for me. I’ve been wearing them to work for the past few months as they’re super comfortable and they’re seriously constructed like nothing I’ve had before. Top photos is how they look every Friday when they get a wash and bottom is all nice and clean. These things really take a beating. After I get some more time in on my TCB and warehouses I might get a few pair to stock up on. Bonus of my 1350 natural leather belt about 8-9 months in. Wear it everyday to work.

Does anyone have info on slowboat deadstock? They make a cool pair of double knee utility pants. Can’t seem to find their site, only photos of their items. Thanks

If you’re looking for some double knee work pants try grease point, looks like they’re on back order until September though.

I am looking to get a new belt. My current favorite (and most comfortable) is the HTC Self Edge Peanut sting ray belt. It's not thick at all, and is my best belt by far.

Something like a Corter or Strike Gold is much too thick and uncomfortable.

Anyone have any recommendations for something that is comfortable for when I want to wear something a bit more plain? I was looking at the Sugar Cane ones, but they seem very thick as well.

I have two belts from 13fifty. They’re affordable and get the job done. I got one on scratch and dent discount for ~$30.

  6. I still go back to my 501s as far as fit and function. I like the high rise with a slight taper, just enough to go over my boots. Also, the fly is my favorite. Idk if it’s just Levi’s wonky QC, but the extra length below the last button really does it for me. My TCB 50s have a five button fly and I get annoyed with the lowest button, like it doesn’t need to be there really. And going with the TCBs, I like the back pocket placement, a little further apart then my standard Levi’s. With back pockets my Norman Porters are my favorite. They’re big enough to hold my bill length wallet without half of it sticking out. The NPs probably have my favorite front pocket material as well. The only thing I’ve never been able to figure on cuts is getting a high enough rise with slim hips and slightly looser thighs.

All that said, I can’t seem to stop wearing my warehouse 900xx even though I sized up to get at least a 10” rise and 7” hem. They’re just really nice and comfortable with the exception of the loose waist, hips and diaper butt I get.

  7. I've had my JGM's for about a month now. I got them in a size 29, they fit a little big in the waist and legs so I should have downsized one more from the get go. I wore them for two weeks and then put them in for a hot soak. The legs shrank considerably and they fit perfect now, but they are still slightly big in the waist and have a little bit of hip flair and gaping. Will a second hot soak cure this?

  8. I have had the Black Stantons since around Christmas time, no real fading on them, but the fit is perfect. I'm still waiting for them to restock the regular Stanton, unless anyone is willing to let a pair go in size 29-30.

  9. anyone wanting a slim/tapered LVC 501 should surely try the 1954 501Z XX. the purists will be annoyed by the zipper and some people might have a problem with the high rise, big pockets and antifit butt. i think it's awesome and has a much more "old-school" feel/fit than the '47 and is much much slimmer from the thigh downward than the 66.

i open the floor up to debate about authenticity of the zipper/fit/etc...

the high-rise is refreshing. they don't shrink that much in the waist, leg or ass just about an inch in length after two warm soaks and appear significantly darker than the '47s or '66s (what we carry in the shop).

we sell a lot of these to guys and a surprising amount to girls at the shop--mostly to dudes who love the LVC story and the idea of shrink-to-fit/unsanforized/loomstate denim but have worn skinny or slim jeans for the past few years and can't quite stomach the leap to how straight the '47s are. these can get pretty slim depending on how high you wear them. i've discovered that braces (again discuss authenticity) help keep them higher than a belt.

a big percentage of '54 buyers are making the leap from APC new standards. when looking to step up their game, interestingly, customers are often choosing between these and raleigh's thin cut. often choosing the '54 LEVI's over left field, raleigh, tellason, & baldwin's slim offerings.

i am surprised this style doesn't get more love here but i understand why,

i've worn these daily for 4 months. more/better pictures anon.

My only problem with the 54 is the rear. Everything else about them is perfect as far as fit, color, rise pocket placement/size, but I have no ass essentially and they look a little goofy on me,

  10. Only about 4 months and already a (mild) crotch blowout on my 47's! :o

I had the same the problem with my '54s, wore them for 6 months and then BAM! blown out crotch. I have since fixed them but they are starting to blow out again.

  11. Quick question: I think i know that the answer is "no," but it never hurts to ask. Do they make the 54 in any waist size smaller than 30"? I have a pair from Cultizm that I got in 2010, is it possible that the sizing has changed since then?

  12. Guys, I'm ready to order a pair of Red Wing 2268 Engineer boots, but I need help on sizing. I made a trace of my foot, and it's just about 10 1/4 inches. The cultizm page for the 2268s offers the generic sizing advice that "Red Wings are oversized. For the right size please downsize at least a half or one size." However, in researching these, I've come across several references here on sufu of the 2268s running true to size. Can anyone verify how these particular boots should be sized when ordering?

I don't have any prior Red Wing experience, but if it helps, I have two other pairs of boots, and they're both too big in the heel: Justin Bay Apache Ropers in 10D, and some older Sketchers motorcycle boots in 9.5. Again, both of these are too big in the heel. They rub when I walk, and if I lift my feet they start to slide off. I wear a 10.5 in Nike Cortez sneakers, and they fit perfectly.

If anyone can help with sizing advice, I would appreciate it. The 2268s aren't sold in the US, and I would hate to have to ship them back to Europe if I size them wrong. Thanks.

I have the 2990, I usually wear a 9.5US so I ordered them in a size 9 and they are still a tad to big, almost half a size. I would say go a whole size down. Hopefully this helped.
