  1. Hey guys,

Great work all around, great fades, you guys are shitting on brands 5x expensive as unbranded. I think some of that is that they are low cost so people wear them harder than a $500 pair. An interesting dichotomy and it makes me remember that denim is workwear.

  2. I'm not trying to knock you, I'm genuinely curious why you're so hostile toward White's/Baker's? They are offering a discount, as well as plenty of options, that until today weren't even listed on the site. I inquired about a HH BH build as well, and was told the same thing. As far as I understand it HH is an exclusive leather for Baker's to use on their Semi-Dress offering. I don't see them declining to make a special HH BH as being insulting, or "too big for their britches". I don't know what agreements they have with White's as far as materials go, but I don't see any reason to be offended by being told it isn't an option, and definitely not a reason to bash them in the contest thread they are helping to sponsor. Maybe if they agreed to build a pair in HH for other people, and then told you no it would be a different story.

You are completely trying to "knock" me.

There is absolutely NO hostility, I just won't be doing business with them in the future (whites, bakers has been excellent).

And I would appreciate it if you would stop suggesting I have some sort of problem with Bakers, they are a fantastic retailer.

I guess I'm spoiled by dealing with people like William Kroll from Tender, Taichi-san, and many others who will go above and beyond customer service wise because they realize that we give them a living and a roof over thier head. I DO know what agreement they have with bakers and you can ask kyle, he will explain it.

The fact I've spent close to a grand with them and the tone of the guy from Whites on the phone just rubbed me the wrong way. He explained to me that no, it would be absolutely no problem to build them with HH, just that they don't "want" to with a prick-ish, holyier-than-thou tone the whole time (while I'm all "yes sir and thank you ma'am)

If it wasnt for that guy I'd be ordering a CXL pair of Bhunters as we speak.

Also I never "bashed" them I simply stated exactly what happend (i did say "fuck em" but thats just how i talk, not meant as an insult). I think it's preety telling if stating exactactly what happend comes off as "bashing".

Again let me restate because I never said anything bad about Bakers but so far you and mega have both suggested I'm badmouthing them for some reason (seriously wtf); Bakers is excellent and one of my favorite retailers. The 2 times I have ordered from them they have been patient with my noob questions and overall fantastic.

You seem to be confused, Bakers is a separate entity from whites! If I say something about whites it has nothing to do with Bakers.

  3. you can get someone to do HH on BH? please share.

possibly, they order the whites then customize it. hh isnt a default option, but im trying.

Though with the exchange rate and japanese shipping ect. I might just go with the lofgrens ive been coveting or I know that Santalum will make their range in HH. See they havent got too big for their britches and will help their customers out.

  4. Settle down. He's expressing an opinion about a pair of shoes you found in someone's back yard. You have no stake in these at all.

And he's right, they are incredibly ugly. They look like an abomination of a hybrid between an engineer boot and a protective motocross boot, and yet they don't seem serve either function very well. Plus, they have velcro straps. Not features I look for in any footwear.

As far as your comment about fashion, and gumming up a thread, I think you should consider your own advice. You're lashing out at people for expressing opinions. If you are entitled to your opinion that those boots are "pure sex," then he is entitled to his opinion that they are "fugly." There's no need to lose your mind when someone expresses an opposing view.

In other news, I'm giving 2-1 odds that this thread simply becomes a conversation between hoggreaser and double-0 within the next two weeks. Even money if it turns out that they are both just additional usernames created by Maynard and we all got Manti Te'od. If the thread gets back on track: 100-1.

Ok, Ok. My bad, shitty day. I appologize to whoever that was.

Though I stand by what I said. I dont like Naked and Famous, that dosent mean I go into the N&F thread and say "hey your raspberry denim sucks ass" and dont add any information or pictures or anything relevent at all. If he wants to criticize my boots he can do that over a PM, and not add a absolutely, 100% useless stupid post to our fantastic thread.

  5. Hey guys, Im out....

I 've been on the phone with bakers and also Whites for about an hour. They absolutely refuse to make my BHunters in horsehide. Not that they cant make it or that it is a cost issue but because they just dont "want" to. As an owner of seemi-dress and smoke jumpers I feel kinda betrayed. I dont think Ill be doing business with whites in the future if they refuse to help out an excellent repeat customer on an order that would cause them no money, extra labor or anything. There are 4-5 other companies that would be glad to help me out and im gonna go with them.

It breaks my hear, because i was really excited about this contest but fuck em if thats their customer service policy.

Good luck with the contest guys. Im talking to a Japanese retailer now who may be able to help me out. Will keep you guys updated.

  6. and scmah- fuck you on principle. We, in our colletive hobby, absolutely thrive on what for 90% of the time was considerd "fugly"

Go ask if a fucking coal miner or a Hells angel if he gives a shit what you think is fashionable.

You accidently clicked the "superdenim" part of this site. If you arent into it, hit thtat X in the right corner and stop gumming up a great thread.

  7. Not sure if these qualify as "shoes that look better with age" unless they were really bad when new

    Them's is fugly

Dont be a prick, I was asking our more knowlegeable members what and when they were from. Exactly the reason this forum was created. Trust me you wont hear from them again.

  8. I’m really curious when the finalized measurement chart will be published. Still not decided what size to get and I have the same fear, I’m in between sizes. Just like MaxPower. Dunno what to do then. Going with 32 and never wash or soak or with size 34 which will be too big and not what I want.

Freak- Cant you read ENGRISH? Were going for a repo thing here. No nut huggers here. if you have any fashion sene click that "x" in the corner.

    xFr

But then, the one-wash measurement chart from now is only after one soak, right? So more shrinkage should be expected?

  9. Kyle added the CXL choices for the toe caps. I noticed that one of the new options (just on the toe cap section) is natural CXL. I would think that leather would have a ton of potential for great aging over two years. I'm wondering up if that is a possibility.

I also inquired about Horween's horsehide as an option, but haven't heard back. I hate to keep asking him so many questions, but I just want to make sure that if I'm doing up a MTO boot, I know what's available.

I'll post any info I get here, in case anyone else finds it helpful. (If no one care just tell me to shut up, and I'll keep it to myself.)

Just got off the phone with whites, probably cant do a Horse Bounty Hunter (3-4 inch strips not big enough)

I have to call a different person tomorrow and try to work some magic. Will keep updated!

  10. Bbcapone- ya, that pair may not even be five years old. That model hasn't been produced for very long, and based on how often they show up on eBay, and how cheaply they pop up, they are not very popular.

If you could get someone to give you $20 for them, jump on it.

Awww man what a crok. I was hoping i found some next level shit. Like some early 1900's levis that they pulled out of a copper mine.

Oh well, they still have a fantastic patina on em, wish they fit so i could use them for bike beaters.

Thanks for the help ray, friended.

Also notice that the shift pad is on both sides, kinda confused, I have never seen a shift on the right side.
