  1. He is wondering how the DP-570 Sushi Ear differs from the Red-D which is DP-580

I am wondering if anyone had any experience with the DP-570 Sushi Ear

Anyone know if the DP-570 is still available, or were they a SE exclusive? Maybe they can still be found elsewhere under a different name?

  2. Soak, brother.

+1 They kind of repel loose dirt in a magical tight-woven Japanese denim sort of way so if they are reasonably clean you can hold off. If you are worried about the smell you probably should have washed 'em last week.

I found a solution for that tho. Move your dick and balls to the side.

    Hahahahahahahalol 0701 truth.

  3. is that really pathetic? i didn't know, sorry

Yes it's pathetic. You are cheap. Now you know.

Also LOL I + repped you. Thought you could put it to good use champ!

P.S. Did she call you back?

    IT buys 90% of bape

    damn.

"A Bathing Ape founder NIGO will remain on board as the Creative Director for the next two years."

    Translation: they were bankrupt

  4. losing all my rep was a turning point. its made me a better person (10)

LOL I was wondering if it would go negative or just back to zero. Just found out, so exciting!

^your sig, i always find myself tipping 10% + a dollar, i don't know where this habit came from, but yeah..

That's pathetic. I can't believe I gave you rep for your taste in asian chicks a few minutes ago, I take it all back.

  5. I was asking because mine are a few days short of four months and am thinking to soak. How do they hold up after getting in touch with water? Did they turn complety limp, or do they crease very well, after a soak or wash?

Doubting if I should do it, or just hold out to the 6 month mark.

Thanks, they hold up very well after soaking but if yours are reasonably clean and you can wait, I would hold off.

  6. Initial hot soak to get out shrinkage, partially sanforized but they do shrink in length (mine went from 38.5" to 37.5" post soak). No alterations. Cold machine wash on gentle cycle with Woolite Dark at 3 months. Rolled in a towel/hang dry only.

  7. waited too long to cop the 0201's in a 34 from BiG and now they're gone...

Same thing happened to me back in August when Context sold out. I ended up getting mine direct from Japan too.

  8. Hahahaha no distinction between knee combs and ankle stacks = must look fucking ridiculous when worn.
    this.asdfgh

Dudes with lots of rep making fun of a pretty good fit, in my opinion.

    image00001ra.jpg

Nicely done. Nothing crazy about the proportions either (whatever that meant). One of the best Samurai fits I've seen in a while. Do not even think about hemming them.

  9. I was looking to get a pair of Ande Whalls that were unique with cool details, a unique denim, but a still subtle traditional pair of jeans, as I thought was the aesthetic of Ande Whall at this point. To that notion, I would just prefer a tried and true leather patch.

    +1 well said.

  10. In case you missed it, he not only posted details that he said we would need to decide on, he also posted denim options.

Yeah I must have missed it. He posted some cool concepts and some random denim swatches, probably expecting to get a rise out of idiots like you and me. I don't think he was soliciting our opinions although I'm sure he found the discussion interesting. If our king says "we" need to decide something, let's assume he means the royal "we".

    ;)

    Please continue...

  11. Fuck this, let Ande decide which denim provides the most unique attributes and the best value. Only he has handled the samples, his name goes on the jeans and is ultimately at stake, and like someone already said: I do not want a pair of jeans designed by you guys!

No offence but I will withhold my vote. This is not a democracy. This is not a AW x SuFu collab. If someone is not happy with the denim and drops out, that's OK - someone else will take their spot.

Ande, please just pick the best denim for the project and price accordingly.

stresMaldo, take a deep breath and relax.

  12. Was thinking over the last few days it would be cool to do a kind of lee-pro, Ande's world rodeo?

Guess I'm not quite the denim nerd I thought I was... I had to do a search to find out exactly what "lee-pro" means. From what I can tell, some "Lee pro" details include rounded back pocket stitching and black/gold tabs: sort of like this older pair of AWs.

    Q5KJG.png

IMO these features paired with a unique denim, dark indigo pocket stitching and some of the other construction details discussed above would be a perfect contest pair.

Use the old school black/gold tabs waistband labels. Possibly a patch design with flying jeans being lasso'd or a nice simple text.

    As above, sounds awesome.

A couple things I'm not to sure about is unsanforized and full back pocket lining. On the slimmer cuts I think the rise gets a bit to short with unsanforized denim, plus the sizing issues. And with back pocket lining the pockets get kinda bulky.

Personally I prefer sanforized (or Momo's partially sanforized) denim, but that's just me. And I don't carry my wallet in my back pocket so a lining is not a big deal for me.

    .....

  13. Hey guys. I don't think different cuts is an issue, just what ever people want. The Deluxe was $265 so wouldn't want the price getting over that, depending on what denim however, but will work at that price. There are a few leather guys floating around sufu that may want to produce the patches and get a pair of jeans as a contra deal, just a thought. Will get some info on denim soon.

Choices that have to be made:

    1: Denim

    2: Patch (leather stamped/lined printed?)

    3: Selvage fly

4: Selvage belt loops (Rope or leather lined?)

    5: Pocket lining (ticking?)

6: Hem's (Rope or leather lined?)

7: Back pocket stitching (Contrast or dark indigo?)

    8: Back pockets (Hidden rivets?)

Sounds great Ande. You will never get 100% consensus, so do something true to your vision and don't give your loyal subjects too many options (ha ha). Personally I look forward to seeing what you come up with.

Since you are soliciting opinions, the only ideas I am strongly attached to are the stamped leather patch, dark indigo back pocket stitching, and rope or leather lined loops/hems. Truly impressive if you can do all that for $265.

Also, that kiwi patch is pretty cool IMO.

    .....

  14. ^ Simple gets my vote. That Imperial cali bear + star was awesome.

Have a list of 15, a list of 30 and an extra list and when details and price come out, people who cross their name off, the next person moves down the list.

And if after the details come out everyone wants in, the 'conditional' guys get cut first.

Firm entries that bail on us get blackballed for life. ;)

    .....

  15. He also said he was open to a contestant designed patch. So if anyone wants to give that shot, go ahead.

Patch design is not really my forte but my vote would go to a big thick ol' piece of bridle leather, maybe engraved with a simple AW design, with the contest # and perhaps Ande's sig on it. Nothing that requires complex tooling etc. Something like this. Old school baby.

    (not my pic)
