  1. Each run has definitely been different but how does this help with measurements ? I really have no idea how the process works but It seems like how they are cut and sewn are the problem. Not the shrinkage. I mean we are talking about sizing before being soaked right ? Denim only shrinks so much, so does this mean one run might have one inch shrinkage in the waist after being soaked and then another run has no shrinkage at all ? Just as long as they measure the same new ?...... Or am I just completely lost on what we are talking about ? Lol.

  2. I do not see the point in doing this. It is the same denim used in the 666S and I've had two pair of these with no problems. Why change the unsanforized denim when you already carry them sanforized in the same cuts ? Seems like you are shooting yourself in the foot to me. Personally I do not buy sanforized jeans and I know a lot of other people don't either. Then there are some people that do not buy unsanforized. So you accommodate both customer base.

We have taken delivery of a new batch of these.

We have treated the denim to a new process which we call dry-sanforisation. This helps fix some of the instability which is inherent in a raw denim, but does not change the appearance of the face of the fabric.

  3. So true. I thought it was a good question and I have been wondering the same thing also. I want to have all the information I can when buying anything on the first run like this.

  4. Can someone tell me how much shrinkage I can get out of a pair of 710's in the waist, rise, thigh and leg opening ? I have a Lot 13 size 31 that is tight in the waist and thigh but I just bought a Lot 17 size 32 and it seems a little large in the waist. It is not too bad so I am hoping I can shrink them down.

  5. Point is, killing for pleasure is offensive or do you think different?

I do not find pleasure in killing animals but I do not find it offensive either. I try not to let things offend me as much as possible. Like I said everyone these days seems to be offended by anything and everything. People are too sensitive. Just because I do not agree with something should not mean that other people should disagree too. Everyone is different and if I was raised hunting when I was a little kid then maybe I would be a hunter. But I was not.

  6. Not really. What's the difference between hanging something on your wall and hanging it on your wrist, waist or feet ? Only difference is someone else is doing the killing for you. I just don't see how people can be half way on things like this. Either you are totally against killing animals or you are not...... But I do agree with not killing endangered species.

I think this part is where you're going to find some disagreement.

  7. Oh, I agree. I did not know you were talking endangered. I do find it odd that they would support something like that.

These are endangered species we are talking about though; lions, cheetahs, buffalo, and elephants. Species that are not going to be around in the very near future. When I have a piece of clothing I like to consider the history and what it stands for if anything. I'm not saying Russell as a whole is morally vacant, but I was just surprised to see that.

Didn't mean to derail the thread. Here's my contribution, Aldens Roy Boot about 4 years old and treated pretty good.

  8. Wow, not here too. Everyone these days seems to be offended just to be offended. I can not believe you guys are honestly letting something dictate what you wear. You should probably do some research on the treatment of animals in the food and leather industry. Surely you wouldn't wear alligator, snake, deer or a lot of other animal products. Because they are specifically hunted or raised for this reason..... I guess deer skin patched jeans are a no no too huh ? There is no difference between trophy hunting and killing animals for material products in my eyes...... And no, I am not a hunter.

  9. Will 660's really shrink 3 inches in the waist ? Size 32 measures 34.5 raw and one wash measures 31.5. Most of my jeans start off measuring 33 inches and shrink an inch or a little more to 32 inches. Should I go with a 32 or 31 in the 660 ?

  10. Well that sucks. I really like how the 21/23 denim ages. But it's more hot than it is cold here. I'm currently wearing 666s 18oz and it seems manageable. I just haven't found a lighter weight denim that I am that impressed with after wear since all this heavy weight denim has come out. I really like the cut and raw state of Strike Gold 1105 but they do not seem to fade that well from the pictures I have seen..... I might just pick up a pair of the 21/23 if they are one releases. Just in case.

  11. Does anyone know how well the 21/23 oz denim breathes ? I live in the south and I'm trying to determine if the 666 cut is doable in my climate. The heaviest I've ever went in a slim cut is Iron Hearts 18oz and Samurai's 19oz.

  12. Thanks Max. I thought I saw where a few people said Pirates sells them that way so I wasn't sure if most places in Japan do the same.

  13. Does anyone know which of Self Edge or Klaxon sizing is correct for 1105's ? They seem to be a size off. Size 32 At Self Edge is a 31 on Rakuten.... Anyone have a pair of 31 or 32 that could take a waist, thigh and leg opening measurement ? Thanks

  14. Between 32 and 33...... Have a pair of 666s in 32 but the thighs are a little bit too tight...... Max, which denim do you prefer out of the 17 and 21 ? Seems to me 19oz are superior to both but i am just going off pictures and not seeing the denim in person....... What would the 710 sizing be ? Thanks

  15. Can someone tell me if they make the 5000 cut in 19oz ? If not then have they ever done it before ? I'm looking for the 19oz denim with a leg opening around 8 inches and waist 16 or 16.5. Is this the cut I'm looking for ? Thanks.

  16. I'm in a weird place where the jeans that I bought fit my waist better than any belt I own.  Wearing a belt right now seems to compromise the comfort of my fit.  So while I like a nice belt, I'm rocking without one just as a matter of practicality until I can buy a better fitting new belt.

Speaking of which, can I expect a new belt to stretch at all? How long does that process take?  Any new straight belt I have ever bought tends to warp into an arc shape, so it must stretch to some degree right?

Oh it will definitely stretch. Although I'm sure it depends on the type of leather it's made of. Most place you would buy from will tell you or have it listed how much stretch to expect. I'm guessing around one hole...... As far as you not wearing a belt. I guess it really doesn't matter as long as you wear your shirt untucked. I use mine just as much as an accessory as I do for it's functionality. So I at least I have to like the way it looks before I will wear it. I also like quality made things. My pocket probably does not like it but they usually end up lasting a good while.
