ordered some layrite after reading stunt's reviews and tried them for the first time yesterday. its a great product and yes it doesnt flakes and washes off in just one wash with shampoo.

The company that owns his name and image lost the rights to his name mid-day through our deal. Thank God this happened right before the jean went into production and not during or else we would have been completely screwed.
The new company that owns the rights to his name wants an astronomical amount to do the jean so it's not happening. Doesn't mean we won't do it without "official rights" though, maybe later this year.
ah thats a shame! cant wait for an "unofficial" one tho.

my first project: a passport holder
the stitching turned out to be a disaster on the insides but im pretty pleased with the overall result considering that this is my first project. my fingers are really sore after sewing.

But it's (Layrite) far superior to any gel.
- Doesn't flake.
- Doesn't harden the way gel does.
- Smells better.
- Doesn't feel like gel.
- Better hold.
Just all around better than gel. Nothing left to say.
will layrite wash out easily with normal shampoo? edit: found the ans from earlier pages.
awkward photobooth shot. should i get my sides tapered? or just leave it as it is?
vote tapered too

Thanks Jimmy!
I just pm'd you with my 2 cents on the design. I'd personally like to have something that incorporates the patch design, and maybe even something about "Kurashiki The Mecca"
What do you guys think? Other ideas? I'm also happy to let Jimmy just go wild and choose which aspects he thinks will work best.
thanks jimmy! would love to see "kurashiki the mecca" too

Just pm'd jimmyc to inquire about a t shirt for this contest. We definitely need one.
thanks for taking the initiative!
I wonder if he'll be willing to since I read his comments on making the heavyweight contest shirts and it did seem like it was more of a headache for him.but considering that he also did the FH world tour tee after the HDC... lets just hope for the best

I've been out of the thread for a while so I'm not sure, but, did we ever get around to making 811 contest shirts?
anyone else thinks that we need a contest tee?

No disrespect to Red Wing 2268 fans, but I feel the same way. I'm more of a Chippewa fan myself. I think the thing that rubs the wrong way is the square instep buckle. I like the vintage rectangular roller buckles as well as the lower placement of the strap.
I think that Wesco and Viberg are next after Chippewa. I would've put Buco at the top, but they are too damn expensive.
i wanted to get chippewa initially but since the 2268 was on sale and are available locally they seem to be the better choice

very nice. how much did they run? 280?
thanks. i got those for only 240. the local rw store is having a 30% sale for all engineer boots. they aren't really popular here in where i live, everybody is going crazy over 875s.

Great news to hear people receiving their jeans! I haven't received a confirmation e-mail from gordon as of yet. Anyone else experiencing a similar situation? I'll probably wait til the end of the week to contact the g man.
We received a partial shipment of
the 811XXX jeans in a few sizes but still waiting for size 29. They should
be arriving any day now.
