  1. yeah your right, i just feel this is just straight from the thrift with no modification or alteration. but some items are cool. im probably gonna like the collection, give me some time lol.

looking forward see asian kids styling ss15 with there mix of supreme/rick owens/pyrex on instagram lol.

Take a look back at the SS14 runway show. I don't think much of that is being worn by the instagram kids. The most popular pieces were the (non-runway) SL10/H (Jordans), crash or destroyed denim, SS Teddy jacket, etc. In fact, of everything that has gone on sale from SS14, a ton of it was runway. FW13 was a different story (they are basically carrying over the most popular elements of that show seasonally), but I can already see that most of the desirable FW14 pieces were not in FW14's runway either. My point being, you can definitely see the direction of the collection and the design pieces from the runway show, but there is still a ton to be seen, and you can expect that a good portion of that unseen will end up being the most popular stuff.

  2. look ok , pretty sure lot of peoples that were into saint laurent now gonna drop off, look more hard to wear / style etc.

This was runway. All of the Permanent Collection remains, sneakers will return in their current silhouettes, and we can pretty much assume the SS & FW versions of the Teddy jacket, and items like the destroyed or crash denim, etc. will return seasonally as well. Nobody is going to drop off because the runway or design pieces have a 70's / psych rock vibe. I like the SS15 direction, and Hedi's mainline SLP aesthetic carries over season to season regardless.

  3. So Ms.Sneaker... your not into he hype of FBT's huh? Tell me where to go from here.

What? I love the FBT. I'm opening up the conversation, that I haven't seen discussed here, that Vis SA's have told multiple people that they are discontinuing the silhouette for fall.

I was saying I agree 100% that it's sad they are not running it for fall, despite whatever conclusion Visvim or Hiroki seem to have come to based on the recent hype around FBT's.

Why do you take offense to a very on-topic conversation? FYI, despite whatever conclusion you seem to have come to by underlining my username, I'm not a sneaker head and I didn't come here for FBT's.

  4. According to all the buyers and press I've spoken with who were at the Vis showroom in NYC, the FBT is dead for FW14. They are going to continue to release deadstock on the website but have discontinued it (at least for now) due to the hype.

I decided to take that with a grain of salt considering what a staple it has been, but I've heard it from 3 separate people. It looks like those slip on models and the above Jodhpur type shoe are replacing it for now.

  5. Apologies for sizing question, but I'm thinking of purchasing the signature lace up boots and am wondering how to size them. I wear a 42 in Saint Laurent sneakers and they fit perfectly. Should I go with the 9/42 in the Signature Lace Up boot? I'm curious because I can purchase a 9.5 off the official site and if they run small at all it would be worth it.

  6. cheers, bought a pair of 17.5s in washed and the top block is near on perfect but the hem is to large for my liking so will give the 15.5s a go

edit: has anyone seen this wash here available in a 29/30? cheers

I bought the 17.5's and tapered  them to 6.25" - they are now perfect and I have the button fly at waist, which I prefer. I'm in LA with access to very skilled denim tailors so that helps.

  7. Can anyone confirm current sizing on the Virgil - Folk? I'm a 9 in Skagway & Gabo and a 9.5 (could even wear a 10) in 13 AW FBT Shaman JP's, and FBT Lhamo Folk.

I'm trying to decide between a 9 or 9.5 and have had some conflicting info. Would you guys say they are closer in size to the Skagway or the current FBT's? Thanks

  8. The packaging is not "updated" - they have been using both boxes for a while now. The right side box is "folk," the left is not.

I bought both the Visvim FBT Shaman JP, and the Visvim FBT Lhamo Folk in the last couple of months directly from Visvim.tv. The FBT Shaman JP came in the standard box on the left, the FBT Lhamo Folk came in the box on the right.

That "updated" box on the right has been around for a while.

TLDR; that box is not new, and many products still come in either box depending on what you purchase from Vis. Most notably, as far as I know, the nicer box is reserved for Folk items.

  9. ^ It's Buzz Rickson x William Gibson version of the A-4. Love the fact the label/branding is on the inside.

I assume that's the one offered at Self Edge? How does it fit? I definitely err toward a tight fitting, non-chunky beanie. I too have a hard time finding ones I genuinely like.

  10. Vinneus, I wonder the same. I generally end up sizing and looking at the US retail locations (though I do sometimes purchase) but I mostly buy through proxy or (now that its available) through Visvim.tv

I somehow, living in Los Angeles, have never been hit with duties off Visvim.tv and I've bought a number of items which always come in less than US retail.

While I too am excited about more US retailers it's not as much about purchasing from them than being able to look. And that's not because I won't pay retail, I'd just rather pay proxie or Vis direct retail than the exploded US market prices.

  11. How is the sizing on the 13 AW FBT Lhamo Folk? I was just advised they fit even smaller than the FBT Shaman JP? Is this accurate?

I take a 9.5 in the FBT Shaman JP and could probably even rock a 10. Should I be getting a 10 in the FBT Lhamo Folk?
