Really cool buckle back dungarees. Except for the suspender buttons they kinda remind me of one of my favorite vintage denim photos, taken in 1939. Thanks for posting!
Braces, belt, and cinch? This man is a pessimist.

all the info i have gotten previous was to go down in size at least 1, maybe two if you are skinny. I have been hung up on getting a pair for over a year now.
Maybe there's some variation between models, but my denim carpenter pants are a mercilessly TTS 32". They fit way different from nearly all pants I've seen on here though...put it this way: they ain't low-rise. Maybe there's some confusion between hip size and waist size.
It's also possible people have sized down to get a narrower leg. If this is the case, I feel very sorry for their waists, as my pair have not stretched a lick.

Why do you have a sidearm?

Once I have my cuffs set, I really don't like to unroll them. But for you, I'll check.
And I checked: no chainstitch hem. If I recall, William's jeansmaker used to have a chainstitch hemmer but unfortunately had to ditch the machine when moving workspaces.
PS:
Who would have the 130's in stock please? Size 36.130s etc. are part of the spring/summer line. Everybody who physically has a pair (ie me and Emil and OkiyaDenim) is cheating. We got advanced screening tickets. SPOILER ALERT: in the end it turns out they're awesome.
But yeah, general release is coming w/in the next few months.
And hey everybody. Don't forget Tender has stuff besides denim pants. A denim vest, for instance. Get pumped.

Nice work, Mitch-- diggin' the pics and info! You're a pretty tall dude-- it must be nice being able to get the max out of those inseams.
Yes, I decided as a young boy to grow up tall and skinny. I am not sure why more people don't do this.

the weft on 130 is significantly less blue than 132.. how come this is the case?
by the way, awesome fit on both of them! lovee it
Thanks! My 130s are dyed with weld, a yellow vegetable dye, not indigo. There are some detailed pictures of both fits w/weld overdye at the okiya denim blog.

132 indigo dyed fly button
132 selvedge pocket reinforcement, interior. Worthy of a patent and a photo spread in "Blue Jeans of the Old West"
132 reinforced pocket mouth. Note thickness. There's an extra layer of denim in there.
132 wear on back pocket corner. Cotton/indigo is compressed and glossy, almost like plastic. Weird!
130. Note shiny hardware, polished by weld dying. Also note "snob's thumb" pocket. Set in behind waistband. Easy access. Look like a dandy; stand around with your thumb hooked in.
130 snob pocket, interior. Calico lining is cut on the selvedge, with bottom free. You can hide a little wad of cash behind it. Don't tell anyone, it's secret.
130 back pocket wear. Probably due to dying process more than my wearing. See the bright blue?
130 denim detail. Weld-dyed hair.
130 interior front. Note, again, pocket mouth reinforcement; denim pocket bags; snob's thumb pocket construction: attached in one go, down, across, up, and then back the same way.

So I got the size 3, thinking they would have a 32 waist (as listed on Superdenim and Hickorees). However, these measure at 34! I'm not sure if I need to see about the size 2s. My waist is a 33.5, and these have just a tad bit of room, so we'll see. It's a bit hard to gauge, since these are clearly made to fit comfortably on the hips, which these do. Like most, I'm accustomed to sizing with a snug fit, to let the fabric stretch with repeated wear. I haven't had a chance to hem these-- they've still got a 37-inch inseam, so I had to roll the cuffs several times over...
They look great. You're right that there isn't enough consumer representation. Believe it or not I have both pairs of jeans and haven't posted anything about them yet. Soon, soon, I will.
I had the same sizing experience with my 132s, and although I'm curious to see how a 2 would fit, I'm certainly not going to exchange or anything. As you mention, they're meant to be roomy, and I'm stoked to wear them "as the artist intended."
Ditto for multi-roll cuffs -- the guidebook says the jeans are "cut long for cuffing," so fuck it, I'm gone cuff 'em.

Haven't seen any denim yet, but this blog has some really amazing, never before seen street photography from the 1940s onward.

The story behind it is pretty amazing too.

I have smelled that soap. It's an experience.
So I finally got myself a pair of 132s. These are really special jeans!

Busy day yesterday. Had to install a dance deck at a theater in Chelsea. Also had to get fit pics of my new Tender Co. blue jeans.
Started with this:
Made it like this:
Then it was clean up time:
Saw these on the way back to the subway:
(Art installation in Chelsea gallery)
(Empire State Building and Gristedes supermarket)
Then got on the train...
And went to Staples to pick up my writing samples for grad school applications. Are copy center employees the world over totally incompetent? Or is just an American phenomenon? There should be four times as much stuff. Will have to figure this out some time today.

According to them they invented the logger boot, though I think other companies have perfected it. I like the looks of their engineers. They have more or less the same pedigree as Red Wing but their 'art direction' isn't as good. And their boots have a lot more synthetics than the Red Wing 'heritage' boots that are most often photographed here; that's could be good or bad depending on your taste.

Is there a "wish list" thread?

Is it me, or has a bunch of new product popped up on www.ware-house.co.jp just recently?
Incidentally, anyone ever bought footwear from WH? These W-7000 Boots look kind of perfect.

It's possible I might be able to have another look at the range... but to be honest I shouldn't, I need to look after the day job.
Maybe I will ask for a lightning, photo-only visit and try and leave out the anal details.
The more photos, the more anal details we can speculate on ourselves!

Me and my jeans are about to partake in some standardized testing...
Does anybody have a hank of rope or leather belt I can bite down on?

can noncontestants get a link to the sample pictures you guys keep referring to?

All the single ladies should commit to growing their beards for the duration of the contest. By the end they'd fit right in to the JOTOW thread.
I hope that the absence of photoillustrations so far in this thread is NOT the trend over the next year. Pictures of jeans speak louder than words about jeans! Except when the Four Horsemen denim philosophers are speaking...

ladybug photos are gnar gnar. they swarm to stay warm on cold nights.
sometimes you find garter snakes in similar hibernation-swarms. Next time try to find a big ball of snakes and have him grab a handful of them!

Just got a nice shipment of Troy coats at the shop I work in. They're outstanding, obviously. I'll try to take some pictures once they're out on the floor.

More selvedge niceness.

Here is an educational link about velskoen/veldtschoen construction:
http://riotgeer.blogspot.com/2009/01/veldtschoen-photo-essay.html
The shoe in the above link seems to be a few steps more 'rustic' than the stitched-down and welted English veldtschoen.
And here are some other rustic vellie shoes:
