  1. thanks for the clarification! was cunfused as my pair is still at 34" or 34,5"

Well, if you're interested in this pair, then I'm happy to sell it to you. As far as the gathered intel, it won't be doing more shrinking in inseam length. Then again, unsanforized denim is always unpredictable.

As I can see from your pictures, there's some stacking going on; thus I conclude this length should be ideal for you, and you will have no stacking issues.

Let me know via PM, and we can discuss further.

  2. I just got my No.1 1506 jacket(Red selvedge), haven't soak them yet, everything are just about right, but since you said the red selvedge version shrunk more than usual.....i'm thinking the sleeves might be a bit tight though.....

    Nice denim blog BTW.

Go for it, Evisu No.1 is the shit.

    Thanks for taking a peek.

The inseam of the red line no.1s shrank 8% along grain from 35.5" to about 32.5", so I can't see the sleeve shrinking extensively. As the inseam has less restraint from other pattern pieces, such as in your case the sleeves, the shrinkage rate is fully 8%. I don't know how long your sleeves are, but it should shrink between 1-1.5".

Cross grain this denim seems to shrink like normal, so hopefully it won't be too tight. I'd rather be worried it became too short.

I hope this logic turns out for your benefit.

  3. @ surrealizm

thx for such an useful info man, appreciate it.

anyway are u suggesting that the new fabric is better than the old one?

coz sb is selling the old fabric and im wondering either to get the new one or the old one...=)

From a typical "collectors" perspective, I'd get both. It's hard to choose either the one or the other for me. The red line selvage seems very promising, and I wish they didn't shrink up short, otherwise I'd be wearing 'em currently.

If you think about it likes this, the red line selvage is new and uncharted territory when it comes to documentation of evo and such, so you might want to snag that one if this aspect motivates you.

  4. 2 up is the way to go, i got 1 up of my previous pair of 2000 No.1(silver selvedge), now they are too tight, can't wear them anymore....

I went with 35 on the silver line selvage ones, and my balls are not thanking me. That is why I went with 2 up on the red line selvage, and the waist was just snug enough; too bad they became too short.

  5. can anyone give me advice how's the sizing for lot 2000 no.1, coz i heard they say need to size up 1 or 2.

and can anyone tell me the difference between old fabric (black selvedge) and new one (red selvedge).thx a lot

As one who recently experienced the red selvage no.1 denim from Evisu, I can recommend 1 up for a tighter fit, 2 up for a regular fit. It will shrink fully 2" from my experience, but if you stretch it out while wet you can get away with a 1 up. I personally got 2 up, and it fit perfectly in the waist. However, the inseam shrank just under 3", and became too short for me. For information's sake, I washed once in warm water.

Otherwise, the indigo has a nice greenish tint to it, and is probably green cast. Once washed it becomes moderately hairy as well, slightly more hairy than the dark grey and silver line selvage I have experienced previously. It also shrinks more than the older fabrics I'm used to. From touching it, it already seems very soft, even though it's practically unworn since the wash; which is not how I remember the previous denim.

I hope this information was useful to you.

    Cheers!

  6. I've contributed a fair amount of pictures currently. Waiting on more prominent evo before updating again.

Sad to say, but I'm a bit disappointed with other participants here. However, you all can make up for that by starting to post something.

  7. well...at the point where I wear my jeans, I measure about 35". But fat is very forgiving so I can pull the measureing tape to 32-33" ;)

but you are correct, the jeans stretch out to 34 - 34,5" after long wear. so as I always say, waist is the smallest problem in sizing as it will easily stretch back to pre-soak measurements (although that might be harmful for the denim and the jeans)

Thanks for clearing that up :)

  8. Your true waist is 35, however many of your jeans are shrunk down to 33 and 32. Does this mean you stretch the waist out to a 35 after wash? Which method of stretching do you use?

It may also have been the case that I have misunderstood something; if that is the case, I give my apologies in advance.

On the other hand, the guide is great and well-documented, and I believe it will be very useful to the Samurai-fans out there, past, present and future.

  9. Surrealizm,

Are you a naturist by any chance? Put some trousers on! :)

Just trying to put the focus on the shoes. For these shots I just pulled my jeans legs up to my knees.

    Here's a "normal" pic:

The jeans are 30th anniversary Studio D'Artisan SP 013s, if anyone's wondering.

  10. Here are a few pictures of me wearing my Hollows Leather hand-made belt. Outstanding quality delivered by Nicholas Hollows. Japanese-made garrison buckle in heavy brass. All in all a beautifully crafted product.

If anyone is wondering, the jeans I'm wearing are the 30th anniversary Studio D'Artisan SP 013s.

This belt has only seen 1 month of wear, mainly because I'm representing Warehouse in the Osaka Showdown thread, with my 700s.

The 700s, as is well known, is a cinch back model, and I'm using this function instead of a belt currently. Needless to say, I will wear this belt as much as possible in the future, as I'm certain the evo will be stunning!

  11. Here are my Church's brogues, with aproximately one year of wear. Super comfy boots. Enjoy!

4 (Heel starting to grind down; surprisingly durable for almost one year of wear; soles are "Itshide")

5 (Much more durable than cotton laces in my experience)

Oh, and please excuse my sock marks!

  12. Cross-post from SDA thread.

About time I updated SUFU with my SDA SP 013s. Got more than 1 year worth of wear in them (maybe like 1 year and 2,5 months). 3+ washes, 5+ soaks.

These retain indigo very well (which is no surprise with 30 dips of natural indigo), and needs alot of wear to evolve. However, they are extremely comfortable, and I can recommend this denim highly.

Here they are, shot in natural outdoors light (all show true colour):

  14. holy smokes surrealizm, those pics are so good I feel like i can almost FEEL the texture of those Warehouses through your pics

Thanks! Shot with a Canon 7D camera, using a 50mm Canon EF lens.

My GF shot the pics, however I adjusted the white balance in PS to get true colour (on my screen).

They look even better IRL; however, that's as close as I can get with a camera.

  15. Cross-post from Osaka Showdown thread.

@4~ months, 2 machines washes, 2 soaks. They've become really soft.

Picture 4 (below) is true to colour (on my screen).
