Have any of you guys made vinegar black or "vinegaroon"? I just finished making a batch and am amazed at how good it works for producing a deep black.

when i did mine i went into the cobbler and asked for a vibram christy 4014 sole. He didnt have the sole at the time so i settled on a red wing sole thats similar.

your cobbler should carry the sole. as it is used commonly for resoles in red wings.

Yeah, they just had a regular dress shoe type sole. I'm unsure which ones they are, i bought them at nordstrom rack. I have a pair of non crepe beeswaxed brown too

Yeah i did it right after i bough them. They were non crepe sole DB's.

Stood up all night stitching together an iPad case, really pumped on the turnout.

on this one my girlfriend handed me a handful of hardware and said make me a belt.

first attempt at making a wallet. I wanted to try and make something similar to a wallet corter posted a couple pages back... i need to work on my stitching, as well as pace myself. i completed it in an hour out of sheer excitement haha!

I need help on choosing leathers

I've been trying my hand at small amounts of leather craft, ie reigns, and belts. However i want to attempt at making wallets, and small bags, cases. I have most of the tools to do it as well.

What leather should i buy for doing this? Do i buy an entire tooling side and then cut it down into the pieces i need?

could someone link me to which weight, and size of leather i would need for making wallets on tandy's website?

Is there any way to see what year, or no. the knife is easily? i found one at an antique shop that looks pretty old, but the guy didnt know the year.
