What was your washing routine?
Thanks, mate!
I got them the first week of June, wore them hard the first couple months before giving them their first wash. Since then, I've hot-washed them once every month or two with either SugarCane denim detergent or Dr. Bronners liquid soap, depending on how badly they need it. (Note: Because my work doesn't always allow for me to wear jeans, they don't have a full 8-month's worth of wear & tear yet. I'd say closer to 6.5 months wear on them.)
Also, Chambo: Looking forward to the comparison flicks.

I managed to get some time with the camera today, so here's so basic shots of my 883's. I'll see about taking and posting some detail shots eventually. Sorry for the dark-ass fit pics. Its cloudy out, plus it's -35'C outside...
And some fit pics for posterity...
That's all, folks!

are anyone elses 883's really. . .furry?
Mine were super fuzzy for the first month I wore them, but I just chalked it up to Japan's ridiculous summer humidity plus the fact that they were One-Wash.
On a side note, I'm out of town this weekend, but I'll take and post some photos of my 7-month old 883's sometime early next week, if not sooner.

883's are slimmer in the leg; a "Tight-Straight" cut, if you will. 811's are a "Regular Straight" cut, similar to a 501 fit. When I bought my 883's in Tokyo, thats how it was explained to me. My copy of the Lightning Denim Buyer's guide explains it the same.
When I tried them on, I found the thigh was relatively the same in 811's and 883's...It's down at the knee and below where the 883's taper. (Also, the One-Wash Eternals will still slim up on you if you give them a hot soak/wash. Not a tonne, but it'll happen. Keep that in mind if you stick with the 883's.)
Hope this helps.

Very stoked for this leg. Keep 'em going!

I find your lack of updates disturbing.

This tour is fantastic, not only for the jeans it has produced, but also to see a common bond and the trust amongst people from all over the world, many who have never met. That, in itself, proves that the internet can provide more meaningful communication than 12-year olds questioning eachother's sexuality over Call of Duty games. Thanks for sharing, Dkatz!

Nice ah_long. Whereabouts did you pick those up? They look to have a similar cut to the 883s.

That looks rad. I'd love to get in on some rapids when I do my Africa trip. Thanks for sharing. (Also, glad my fellow Canadians were good representatives.)

Those repairs look great. The self-patched knee is just one most story told by the jeans, themselves. So awesome.
Must spread.

Spent last Friday evening going through a bottle of Auchentoshan 12 with the father-in-law. Very smooth. Has anyone had a chance to try their Triple-Wood variety? Looks promising.

Just today I inherited my grandfather's Pre-Gillette takeover 7 O'Clock open-comb DE razor with a pack of vintage Wilkinson blades. Apparently this thing is from the 1940's. Currently soaking it to remove any residual soapscum. Will post pictures in the near future.

You must spread some Reputation around before giving it to -Z- again.
Also looking good, Tally and Shangers.

Damn, Jay. Those are hairier than my 883's when I first got 'em...
Also, looking good, Farhad.

This is gonna be epic. How many other threads can really call themselves "World Tours" after this? Talk about a SuFu x SE legacy.

That bag is awesome. Real clean, but looks like it can take a beating. Gotta pick me up one of those.

My current set up. Purchased at various points across Japan.
Alzuni wallet with braided tether. (The pockmarks are from sitting on embroidered arcs...)
Belt clasp with 50 Sen coin button.
Red Moon key covers on a silver belt hook.
Plain-ass medicine bag. Also Alzuni.
Please forgive my crappy photo quality. Bad lighting in this apartment...

lol @ You've Got Jawnz!
Drool-worthy as ever. It sucks they don't fit, but I'm stoked to see what Mrs. Z can do for them during their stay.

Holy crap, has it already been a year since that contest started? Wow...
Regardless, nice progress. Can we get a front shot of the top-block? How are the whiskers coming along?
