  1. the word on the left is the word for "air" instead of sky as an entity. one of the 5 elements. earth, fire, wind, water, air.

Depending on what type of air you mean, that kanji alone does mean sky in Japanese. Air would be 空気 . Within the 5 elements wind and sky are somewhat interchangeable though, and you find use of both of them.

  2. The size 28 ones are 50% off so ~Â¥7500. You can't purchase them online, just at the store itself. I actually thought about picking them up and reselling but it seemed like a hassle.

SLAB I can't really say but the ones I saw had a tag that specifically said Kyoto and the employee told me the stuff I mentioned about the fit and denim difference. Post pictures of your pair please?

  3. So, tried on some Denime's at the Kyoto store today. Was quite surprised with the 66 fit, very nice! I asked the girl about 66xx type since I read something about it around here, but she didn't seem to know much about it though. Might end up getting some indigo 66's since they're only ¥15000.. Too bad they sold out of the black ones, although there's still a size 28 and a size 29 left for 50% off! Too fucking cheap... Were some other great 50% off bargains to be had, none in cuts I was interested in though unfortunately..

On another note, anyone familiar with the store exclusive models Denime does? The girl showed me the Kyoto one and it was a very nice light indigo one with cool details on the tag and a denim normally not used by Denime. Shame it was a low rise else I would've snapped that one up in a heartbeat though. The concept is very cool though, with a cut and denim type that's exclusive to a certain store.

  4. Is Skull still having problems with their production? Seem to recall hearing something like that a while back, a lot of the stores around here stopped carrying Skull Jeans as a total and told me the only place to get them was the Fabfour store in Tokyo.

  5. CTB - Nice bit of arts n craft there ;)

Warakia - Anymore pics of your 0005's ?

Re. No.1 or No.2, this has cropped up before on this thread.

If you got the money (and don't need it for anything else) get No.1s. Otherwise you may get No.2, then down the line be wondering what if...

It's difficult to justify the huge price difference, but it is the Number 1 denim!

    My sizing for No.1s 2000:

TTS, if your skinny (plus stretching whilst wet)

+1 for slim fit (plus stretching whilst wet)

    +2 for normal/regular straight.

I'll snap some pictures tomorrow, just gave them a soak because the weather here in Japan is so hot they were getting dirty as shit. I see your point about the No.1 denim, seems the 2005 cut which I'm most interested in only comes in No.2 though. I guess the choice is already made for me then;) .

  6. So I just went to the Evisu Kyoto store, quite impressed with the feel of the Lot No. 1! Can anyone tell me though, how's the fit on the 2005? Right now I'm very happy with my 0005 (Evisu international) fit, normal thighs with a tapered bottom. I tried on the 2000 model or the 2001 model (the straight fit one?) and the saleswoman told me the 2005 was like that one but with a tapered bottom. I couldn't try the 2005 on since they were raw and she told me I wouldn't be able to tell the fit anyway. I tried a pair of one wash no.2's in the straight fit and quite liked that fit up until the knees, so 2005 sounds ideal. Just need to decide whether or not I am gonna cough up the extra 9000Â¥ for the No.1 or stick with No.2 for the slightly more reasonable 21.000Â¥. Also, how's shrinkage and stretching on the No.1 and No.2's? I think general consensus is size up 1?

On another note, I was thinking about getting my current 0005's ( picture ) painted since they're about to be retired and I thought it would look pretty nice, a worn in pair of Evisu's with a set of fresh, handpainted gulls. I asked the woman and she said it was ok even though it wasn't Evisu Japan since they were still Evisu's, very nice of them imo! I do need to wash them since the paint won't attach properly if I don't, and that's gonna be a problem as I currently only have a really shitty laundry machine at my disposal which I don't really trust and which only uses cold water to begin with (can you imagine! Crazy Japanese). I hope a hot soak in the tub will do the trick.

  7. If you own a pair of Evisu's and take them into a Japanese Evisu shop, can you get gulls painted on them even if they didn't originally had any gulls? I'm considering getting mine done since I think it would look pretty sweet to have some fresh gulls with a well worn in pair.

But I don't know if they will since they're not Japanese Evisu's but from the European line..

  8. Crosspost from the evo thread, pictures taken about 1,5 month ago:

Evisu's 0005 (don't mind the tag they're samples), 6 months in. No wash no soaks.

I'm thinking about washing/soaking them since the smell is getting really bad lately.. Only thing holding me back is that if they shrink I'm kinda fucked since they fit me perfectly now and if they get much smaller they'll be too small for me.
