  1. "For spring/summer, the brand has re-issued the style in a distinctive bleached finish. They feature Levi’s famous red-selvedge, copper rivets and double needle arcurate, as well as, the iconic red-tab on the rear pocket. An authentic style, these jeans will age handsomely with the wearer, to ensure years of happy wear"

for some reason I want these, no idea why.

  2. anyone wanting a slim/tapered LVC 501 should surely try the 1954 501Z XX....

the zipper on the 54 is thick enough that it doesn't bother me as much as others. I have a weird fear of being stuck in the wilderness during end of days and of course the zip fly decides to break. ironically I have now owned 67s, kill city wire fit, and now 54s all of which are zip fly - just cannot win.

  3. yeah jyoni! does anyone else get a little nostalic re-reading posts from 2 years ago - or feel like "dude who is this guy" seeing your pictures/postings? cool contest, glad I participated for the time I did.... would be cool if there was a way to incorporate a jacket and a white t and make it an outift LVC style - i'm sure this is already happened or happening I apologize if so just haven't been on in a spell... congratulations to everyone who made it through 2!!!

  4. I have always like the Kill City brand and their wax coated and dyed jeans and recently the Kill City's Salton Wash jeans.

From the photos you can see they are already broken in and yet say" WE ADVISE TO WEAR FOR AS LONG AS POSSIBLE (6 MONTHS) BEFORE DRY CLEAN ONLY FOR OPTIMUM WASH EFFECTS." After emailing them for more info I was told that ideally i 9-12 month no wash would be ideal and also some info about how soft and nice the denim feels and would look broken in further.

I ended up getting them and have actually been really impressed so far by the denim. The inside seam on the legs have areas of heavy wear already and the denim breaks and/or folds in those spots on the lower leg area especially - and I am totally curious what things will look like after a few months. I know there is little if any interest in pre-wash and distressed jeans but I am actually really excited to give these a honest 6 months wear and see what the result is....

here are some photos which shows the wash's effect on the denim and how it falls/creases/etc..

day 2 or 3 denim is starting to stack and bend at wear points

super interested to see what these might end up looking like.....

There is a version of these with black spray which look pretty cool too

next month I'm trying for update via actual camera instead of this x1 camera "phone" NOTE: no photo shop or color adjusting was done but each photo is a different color denim depending on how close to the window I am standing taking the photo, etc. still always fun times to post updates. Thinking about getting a pair of Kill City Salton Wash Black Spray jeans to alternate with these... we shall see!!!

  6. when my brother was home last week I took some photos of his Rogue Territory either Stanton or Standard Issue I believe.

Hidden pen pocket on back pocket which is coming along nicely

    RT_5.jpg

Both the fly and bottom of each back pocket are lined with white cloth(or canvas?) which you can't see from these photos. I really like details like these which are there for the person(and only the person) wearing them to enjoy. Obviously since these are my brother's I'm going to have to get my own pair soon!

  7. the 54s are unsanforized. also...not a true vintage cut, I dont know if you care though. wash/soak with the zipper up to avoid weirdness.

by not a true vintage cut do you mean it is a modified version of the original 54 cut? Would the 1955 pitchfork 2 version which had skinny legs and low rise, etc. be another example of this?

fit note: 67s felt so baggy at first , now they feel like skinny jeans but with a high rise. I forgot a belt last week so they were hanging pretty low and coworker said I was too old to wear my jeans like that, haha. high rise jeans aren't always flattering when sagged so maybe that was her point...

i'm rambling - apologies, I know this is the photo thread....

  8. Here are some pictures x posted from the lvc photo thread

the 67's seem to fade pretty similarly, however I think this might be my favorite cut so far.

There was an overcast day of pictures, but they remain pretty accurate to color.

^ sweet! the tag fade on Levis might be one of my favorite things about owning them...stoked about the 67s too, the zipper fly being the one thing I was originally eh about.

now I think the 67s zipper area fades vertically on the outside edge compliments the slender/long look of them and other areas like the thighs and whiskers seem more pronounced.

  9. I went into Unionmade a little while ago and finally saw some of the stuff from the new LVC season.

The new leather jacket is friggin AWESOME:

I was there on Saturday and got to see it too, really great looking piece. I took my my friend - who was visiting from Miami - to Union Made so he could see what I'm always telling him about. He liked this jacket so much he was debating how much use he would get out of it living in south Fl. I've never owned a leather jacket, typically are they expected to last years, a decade, more?

  11. ...or just break out some unworn old STF's for fun on the side...

Anyone else ever feel this way?

I was checking the levi's website this morning and saw the selvage shrink to fit also. Interesting but couldn't really see the details on the website photos, will look at the levis store when I am there this weekend. The quality control with new levis was frustrating when ordering $32 511s online, that would be something to work out especially for a 'premium' line. Their "new" 201 was a surprise to see online too, is it supposed to be a cheaper modern version of the old 201? instead of 'new' selvage why not offer lvc is basically what I was thinking....

  12. Medine, Bob_66, LC_Miley & jyoni - all looking great!!! Here's a photo of my 67s I took this morning:

    lvc_sept2.jpg

On a total side note: the past 9 months my weight and waist line has changed a lot: contest start 165lbs, april 185lbs, and today 155ish. In the future I probably won't downsize when buying jeans, from 175lbs and up the waist was tight enough that I was getting lower stomache aches and pains by the end of the day so I stopped wearing them. I became a poster child for "I can't eat like I did at 16"....

  13. was doing some cleaning of closets and pulled out my lvc in anticipation of fall coming up, thought I would take some photos to keep me busy...

    lvc 67s contest jeans(left) and lvc 44 drab wash(right)

and a better photo of 67s

I fell off the planet for a few months but seeing these really got me stoked and thinking about one new raw pair for fall/winter/spring....
