  1. ah good call! yeah, would not be great to get some undesirable streaking on em. i guess hand-wash it is! any tips for handwashing super black fade to greys? will be sure to take before/after pics!

As long as your don't ball them up and ring them out, you should be good.

Hand wash with your jeans laying flat in the bath tub and gently rub the soapy water into them. Then drain the water and fill back with fresh water to get the soap out. You may have to do this a few times. Then gently "press" the water out while keeping the jeans flat and then hang to dry.  I usually roll my jeans up in a towel to get additional water out, and I've never had streaking issues, even with my OD Iron hearts and IH ducks (which are also prone to streaking).

Good luck, and post pics after they dry!

  2. Since I'm guessing those are the 9624Z, I'm extremely surprised they blew out like that in such a short amount of time. You see pairs of old 9634 and 9301 in the OLD Superblack materials crack and rip like that (After a while of hard wear), but from what I understand, Haraki actually "redid" the Superblack fabric is make is "less" likely to rip like this. Unless this is a SUPER old pair that was still hanging around, I can't believe this happened after just 10 wears.

  3. @b_F,

I've worn them for about 4 days now and I like how the denim is very quickly molding and stretching well.  They are very comfortable to wear - just not extremely "modest" due to their rise lol

  4. figured I could post some pics of the "New 66" i snagged from the Blue Owl sale.  I know these are not the ideal cut to grab from Denime, but I wanted to give them a try since they were easy to buy and I thought they might work.  This that being said, here is my take on the jeans:

    1. The denim, although not the XX denim, is still pretty interesting in a very minimalistic way. The only thing I have ever seen in person that even comes close to this is the Warehouse denim on my 660 from 2009. The feel is quite rough and the slubs are very infrequent, but still there. I got some good leg twist, but not what I expected. I did a super agitated cold soak since I was already worried about the rise being too low, but everything shrunk up to expected measurements.

    2. The rise is sooo low. I can see why these were a slow seller. The closest thing I could compare this too is the RRL low straight. That being said, someone really slim could wear these and be very happy, but since I'm 6'1, 200#+, these will always be worn with a long shirt over the waist.

    3. The cut from the thigh to the leg opening is awesome. Nice slim thigh and an awesome cut from below the knee - almost like the 660 and the FH 3005 had a baby - if only the rise was better, these would be my favorite jeans.

    now for some pics:

  5. I believe they stopped making the "New 66," which is the low rise (3 button fly) model.  After looking at the denime.jp site, their "Basic Denim" 66-type (non XX) has 4 buttons, where as my "New 66" (purchased from Blue Owl) only have 3 buttons on the fly.  Also, the back yoke of my "New 66" is extremely shallow and almost rectangular with the top of the back pockets VERY close to the yoke stitch, where as the 66-type currently on the denime.jp site has a more traditional, deeper v-style yoke with traditional pocket placement.

I could be wrong, but that's I'm guessing

  6. love to see 3005 fitting, i believe regular straight will fade slower than the slim fit but the outcome would be much better

    anyway is it TTS?

Thanks tang! When I got them they were true to size (tagged 36), but they are 1 size up now. I'm a true 34-34.5, but have a fairly athletic build. The waist shrunk down to a 35 and hasn't really stretched past that.

  7. Great evo pics Dragon!

Since we don't see a ton of 3005s on here, I figured some evo pics might be needed (even though not a ton going on here)

Just gave these their first soak (1 presoak as well) after about 50 wears. Wear these to work sometimes, but other than that, nothing too crazy going on with these.

(Sorry for the crappy photos, I am not a talented photographer ha)

no super crisp whiskers here due to the rather relaxed fit in the top block

I love the electric blue that the 3xxxx denim begins to fade to

figured my back pockets would get more wear from sitting at a desk all day haha

loose leg leads to more vintage style combs.

No real contrast in fit pics though...

    cheers!

  8. Man! Those Engineers are super awesome!

Got some Low Straights. A lot slimmer than I normally wear, but they are growing on me.

(realized my sleeves messed up after I took the picture haha)

  9. @mvk190 Whoa! Those are already so awesome! Great vintage fit too!

@Coolhand thanks for posting your measurements of the 34s! Crazy how there is not TOO much difference in our two measurements haha.

  10. As promised.....Some post-soak pics of my Indigo Gunslingers.

(Sorry for the lame face haha)

Bonus up-close of the awesomeness of the fabric Christophe chose for these. From afar, it looks super dark blue, almost black, but in the direct sunlight, they have a purple/redish hue. Can't wait to see these evolve over the next couple weeks/months.

Another Win in my mind for Christophe and the team at Mister Freedom!

Here are the Pre/Post Soak Measurements from my pair. 20 min cold soak as John suggested.

Mister Freedom "Gunslinger" Indigo Size 36

    Waist: 37" / 35"

    Front Rise: 13.5" / 12.75"

    Back Rise: 17.2 / 16.8"

    Thigh: 13.6" / 13.5"

    Inseam: 35.5" / 33.1"

    Hem: 9.3" / 8.75"

  11. Yes, the evo is amazing. Probably will keep but not sure how these will go with an oxford at the office :)

I'm hoping these will go well with an oxford, haha that's my plan as well!

  12. I got the 36s (I'm 6'2 190ish). I was between sizes, and somehow mine ended up measuring 1 inch smaller in almost all dimensions than the website said. It ended up being perfect! I told john he must have measured every pair to find the smallest 36 for me haha.

Don't sell them. Word is that the evo is unbelievable.
