  1. ^ An ounce of prevention, Reggie Died. I've touched up the pockets on my 1944 at the slightest sign, and they've held up well while the rest of the jean falls apart. A good fix for the perimeter stitching is to interweave the repair with the old thread. The original thread around the edge of the pocket seems to fail as a complete thread rather than breaking, if that makes sense. You can loop and lock a repair around it, and save it before it breaks.

I've had less of an issue with the actual denim ripping as I have with the pockets themselves fraying and coming apart, but I'm sure that a little active prevention probably would be the best way to lengthen their lifespan. Very helpful post jyoni!

  2. I feel like my 47's are fading quite fast actually. I think it's a combination of soaking them really well initially and going true to size. They were pretty brutal at first in the waist but have stretched out perfectly now. I'd say I wear them 5 days a week, and they are the only jeans I've been wearing since December 1....

  3. Posted this in the photo thread but thought I should put it up here as well. I'm really enjoying these a bunch, much more than my APC NS which are my only other pair of selvedge denim. Right now I am sort of wishing I had sized up one for a more relaxed fit, but I have a feeling that in a couple months when summer is imminent I will be happier with the more slim fit.

Here's some fit pics of mine...2 months
