Thanks for that. Funnily enough, I just got an email back from the people at Sierra Designs. It is apparently a logo from 20 years ago. Seems a step outside their normal logo's development over time to me. Their logo in '65 has more relevance to the current one, than the one in my picture.
I'm off back to the shop to get myself a bargain.

Cross-referencing against modern jackets wont help, I've done that. This is a "vintage" jacket. This is the point of only needing the tag. It is a 60/40, but is it a Sierra Designs parka with an old style logo, a one-off logo, a logo a manufacturer licensed to produce the coat for Sierra Designs out of the US used or a blatant fake/knock off?
I appreciate the help.

Lets assume for a minute that a thread about clothing for the "great outdoors" might be frequented by peeps passionate about said clothing and might have come across this weird logo (it is not the normal Sierra Designs one) and know it for fake or otherwise. Worth a shot I would've thought.

As good as place as any to get an authenticity check on this. Is it plain fake or something else?

Wasn't too quick, hence why I posted on here, but the lovely Stephanie at SD was very helpful
Its a testament to their quality that this parka is still in mint condition after 20 years.
