i picked up a pair of the jungle cloth pants during the warehouse sale... gotta be the most comfortable piece of clothing i've ever owned. all of my poor denim has seen very little wear since these babies showed up. so happy with them.

apart from the material being extremely cozy, the fit is really amazing. makes me wonder... can you name a couple pairs of denim pants that might have a similar fit?

the jungles are a size 36 and i think it's mostly the top block that i find so comfortable. for denim, i'm currently working with a pair of the IH 666s and the SExIH07s from a few years back. thanks in advance!

Both of the leathers you mentioned are indeed oily and might leech onto the inside.

Thanks for the response. Any leather that you would recommend? It's confusing sometimes trying to select different leathers, especially over the phone.

for my next project, i'm going to tackle making a bag for my wife. a simple tote bag, something kinda like this:

i went to tandy today to purchase some leather for some belts and wasn't thrilled with the leather selection for a bag. the only leathers that seemed like they would maybe work was the "stoned oil cowhide" or the "kodiak oil-tanned cowsides", however the crew at tandy told me that it the oil would leech or bleed onto garments, stuff in the bag, etc...

does anyone have any experience with these leathers? are there some other leathers i should be working with? if tandy doesn't carry what i need, i'm game to order from horween or wicket and craig. i only prefer tandy from a convenience standpoint.

hey guys. i'm looking to get a maker's mark made and infinity just quoted me $250 bucks. i know it's probably worth the money in the long run, but it's more than i was looking to spend. does anyone have any other good sources or ideas? my logo is super simple, nothing complicated at all.

or maybe i should just bite the bullet and order from infinity. any thoughts?

just picked up a pair of the 1915 501's from the LVC shop in SF. i'll try to post some pics before and after i soak them this weekend. i can tell that i'm already completely in love with them though. very excited about these.

i'm looking for some recommedations on some good reading material for leatherwork. maybe specifically some japanese stuff, or anything really. i'm just looking for some magazines or books to have around for inspiration and design ideas. maybe even some technique material would be cool as well.

also, does anyone have a good source for some thick leather cord that they'd like to share?
