  1. I have 2 pairs of Clarks desert boots for sale up on ebay. They are size 9.5 US and 9 US. I just picked up a pair of Alden suede chukkas so no need for these. They are brand NEW, never worn. The start price is $59.99. Thanks.

  2. So an update from my last post..

I received my chinos the other day and wore em to a party last night.

Ended up dancing with some ladies and now my crotch is blue as hell from their jeans.

So now my new chinos are going in the wash.

Did you end up finding them in beige? The site only shows them in the washed version of khaki, grey and black. I proxied a pair of the khaki version from Japan in the fall. Does anybody know if the older, ligther-weight beige version is not being made anymore?

  3. At first I used sno-seal for the winter (gonna have to get on that again)

then I melted off as much as I could and used various shoe polishes. Most recently, I have been using kiwi brown polish. Seems to work pretty well.

Ah, that's what's giving them a little bit of a shine. Did you use wax or cream polish?

The toes on yours are flatter than mine. Were they like that to begin with or did it happen with wear? I've only been wearing mine off and on for 3 months so not much wear.

  4. Another Red Wing sizing question. I looked through the thread and get the standard size down .5-1 size. Is this from dress shoes/standard boot size or from casual/sneaker size?

I'm a 9.5 dress shoes (Allen Edmonds, vintage Florsheim), a 10 in Adidas casuals and 9.5 in Jack Purcells. I also have the LL Bean Katahdins in 9.5. I'm interested in the 8146 model (I think the same as the J Crew rugged classics). Any help would be much appreciated.

  5. Yet another sizing question. I've been reading this thread but have missed some pages and searched but didn't find the info.

Does anybody know what the inseam shrinkage is on the 2009 1947? I need to end up with a 33x32 so I was planning on getting a 34x34. A lot of accounts I've read said that the 47 inseam shrinks 2.5-3" but those were all past years models. Just wondering if this is also the case with this years? Thanks.

  6. I have a pair of 1955's for sale (check signature) in 34x36. This is a new user id as my old one won't allow me to make any posts (don't know why). I'm not a prolific poster (swisschalet) but I've been around for a while. Figured I'd let you guys know as you're probably the only ones who care about LVC.

  7. I have 2 pairs of Wallabees up on ebay. They are both size US 9.5 and are in excellent condition. The brown suede were worn once for a few hours and the black leather were worn twice for about 4 hours each time. I bought these a few years ago but I only really wear a pair of beeswax ones I have so no need for these.

  8. Recs for a <$250 chelsea-ish boot w/ tread for winter wear?

I'm looking for the same thing that I can wear for work. I want something stylish but I'm in Canada so they'll probably get beat up. There's blundstone or RM willams yard/gardner that both have rubber treaded soles but they're oiled leather so it won't take a shine. I've been looking at the other RM Williams (ie craftsman or turnout) and get vibram sole put on. Would also like to know if there are any other suggestions.
