  1. i sized down 1 on my lot 10 710vx and they were pretty fucking tight after the first hot soak. They looked like girl jeans in the beginning, but after a week or two, they stretched out and i love the fit

How much did they shrink in the waist and leg width after the first hot soak? And did they stretch back out to the original, pre-soak measurements after a couple weeks of wear? Thanks.

  2. The size 31 710's I bought from BiG listed the pre-wash waist measurement as 33", but the actual measurement on the pair I received is 32". If they don't shrink more than half an inch I should be fine (thinking of just cold-soaking at first, but eventually they'll need a wash). Any feedback on that front?

And another question for all you 710 wearers: I don't have much flexibility at all in the knees while wearing these (and I'm a skinny guy). Will they significantly loosen up with wear, or is what I'm experiencing now pretty much what's in store for me?

    Thanks.

  3. ^^Another Bostonian in the club. Welcome holmes.

Same here - just bought some 710's last week. I'll get them chainstitched at BiG after all shrinking and stretching is done.

  4. Going to buy some 710's. If I want to end up with a size 32 waist after all shrinking and stretching is done (without too much ball-busting in between), whats size would you 710 wearers recommend? Thanks.

  5. sounds like what i told you last week

Yup - same advice. Thank you both for the feedback. Unfortunately, BiG is out of stock on the 29's, so Gordon said I can either try a size 28 on the 660's or try some Samurai 505's if i want to go the Samurai route.

  6. BiG's measurement chart is probably right after soak/wash. So yes they can become a 32" waist. But they'll stretch back. Maybe 33" or 34". Depends on how big you are and how much tension you give them

If they do stretch back out to 34" (or even 33") they'll end up being too big for me (even with a belt). But if I size down 1 or 2 so that I end up with a 32" waist after all soaking/washing/drying/stretching I'm worried that the fit might be too slim elsewhere (in the thigh and seat especially).

I apologize for the redundancy of my posts - just trying to make the right decision here.

  7. As noted in previous posts, I bought some size 30 660's recently. The pre-wash waist measurement is 34". Just curious if after a few soaks and then a hot wash and hot dry they'll end up with the 32" post-wash waist measurement listed on BiG's website (what I need) or whether they'll stretch back out eventually to the 34" that they are now. Thanks.

  8. speaking of modern technology, how about a decent camera and a tripod?saves you from taking shitty pics in front of a dirty mirror.

My camera is a 10MP Canon. Admittedly, not the greatest of shots, but you get the general idea of how they fit.

  9. ^^if you soak it in hot water and the waist shrinks and you wear them THEN with a belt they shouldn't stretch back that much

It's possible, but I really need to end up with a 32" waist. Anything over that is just way too big for me. And right now (pre-wash/soak/stretch, etc.) they run about 34".

  10. this wonderful thing called "belt"?!

Haha - true. I find such modern technology as the belt to be wondrous.

Even with a belt, the waist is still loose. And I'm concerned that after all is said and done that the waist will stretch back out to where it is now. Definitely not looking for a tight fit anywhere, but don't want it too loose either.

  11. Here are a couple more pics of the new 660 size 30's with a measuring tape. They're too big now, but if I hot wash and hot dry them, I'm worried that the legs will end up too tight width-wise and that they'll stretch back out to where they are now in the waist. Any suggestions? Thanks.

  12. thats cause they were 2 sizes too big

    Chantheman,

The Eternal 811's were size 33 in the one-wash version, and the waist felt right. (actual waist size of 32"). If I went a size or two smaller, then the waist wouldn't have worked unless I tried the waist stretcher that was mentioned on the Eternal thread. And Gordon thinks that the hipflare could still be an issue for me if I go with a smaller size simply because of the way the jeans are cut and how they fit me.

  13. looks fine pre wash

just curious why you bought a 30 in the 660's when you were talking about wearing a 30 in samurais. 660's fit 2 inches bigger than tag so i would think a 29 or 28 even would be more to your liking.

either way you wont be dissapointed with the jeans

    Chantheman & Salaami,

Gordon at BiG suggested that I order the 660's in the size 30's. I sent back the Eternal 811's because of the hip flare (which killed me, because I really loved 'em with the exception of the pretty big flare). The 660 size 30's seemed a little big to me given that I want to end up with a 31.75"-32" waist after all shrinking and stretching is done, but Gordon said that that if I went smaller then the legs might be a little tight on me. My thighs are only 20", but I'm sure he steered me in the right direction.

Do they look excessively baggy on me?

    Thanks.

  14. does anyone have the contact email for BiG?

i sent them 4 emails in the last couple of days (the one from the "contact us" part of the webstie) but no response to even one of them.

i am looking to buy a pair of S710bk's and read that they still have sizes avaialable and that you have to email gordon from BiG.

does anyone have gordons direct email or BiG's direct email? thank you.

    BiG's email address: [email protected]

  15. i own both pairs and I have worn both considerably

if you don't think the eternals are going to work for you because of hip flair or if you need other people to tell you they dont work for you [which is clearly the case]

get the 660's just like I and others have suggested above

other then that eat shit and die cocksucker

Maybe we can beat each other up after school. Listen - I apologize for calling you a jackass and for telling you to mind your own business. However, I don't understand why you find it so annoying that I'm exchanging messages with other forum members about purchasing a pair of jeans. A few people, have been very helpful in offering their advice. If this is something that you want no part of, then simply don't read the messages and certainly don't respond to them. As far as "shitting up the forum", let's be serious. This thing was set up in the first place to exchange ideas, opinions, pics, etc., which is exactly what I've been doing. .

  16. buy the warehouse and stop shitting all over this thread

I appreciate the advice from knowledgeable and helpful posters (clearly, you're not a member of that group). Mind your own f*cking business, jackass.

  17. Indigo_junkie,

That's some really good advice - thanks. I just don't know if I want to go that route (although it is a possibility). In that case, I'd probably get a size 31 or 32. I'm just not sure I want to stuff myself into undersized jeans until they stretch out (although the 811 pics on here do indeed look awesome).

If I don't go that route, I spoke with Gordon at BiG and he suggested that the Warehouse 660's might fit the bill for me (no or very little hip flare, but not a tight-fitting jean). I told him I was thinking about going the Samurai route, but he said that I might even experience hip flare with the 500's and 505's because of the way that Samurai cuts their jeans. If I wasn't so damned skinny this might be a whole lot easier. Any thoughts on Gordon's 660's suggestion?

    Thanks.
