  1. I've followed pretty much all of Mos Def's career and I've never seen or heard of him wearing Visvim. I knew he was friends with Chris Gibbs but I wouldn't doubt that the friendship started when Mos moved to LA. For years he was anti-corporation and in the 90s he dressed like a communist. Then the echo and 555soul ads starting appearing. Then Undercrown, The Hundreds, and Mos wearing Alife on Real Time with Bill Maher. I'm not saying people's styles can't evolve, but just because he did a shoot with Neighborhood doesn't mean he's been into Visvim for a while. What I mean is he's a trend hopper and Visvim is next on the platter. How would you know how long I've been following Visvim anyway?

  2. Ugh maybe many of you have already moved on but its really time to move on when rappers get a hold of clothing companies. I love hip hop but rappers ruin EVERYTHING good about mens' fashion. I love so many things about this label and they always put out interesting pieces each season but its over people. Maybe its been over and I was too blind to see. Also, the glade just put up a visvim henley for almost 800usd. Hell is the absence of reason.

  3. From my experience I would size down a full size. I wear a 13 in nikes and wear a us11.5/12 or uk11 in all my hard bottoms: trickers, dior, lanvin, church's etc. Remember you'll probably being wearing thin dress socks with a pair of tricker's so that will affect the sizing. I suggest if you go for a bespoke pair, go all out and look into edward green, john lobb, or to a lesser extent, crockett & jones. Tricker's are nice but in my experience "lower range" English dress shoes. The Lobb's or Greens are much more expensive, especially besopke, but the C & Js are similar to Tricker's price range and, to me, a better all around shoe. Good luck and check on ebay. Although you can't try them on there are some great deals to be had.

  4. I'm sorry but blue shoes will never be stylish in my opinion. When you add an orange and white striped arrow into the mix it borders on ridiculousness. Those mountaineering boots look incredible but over a grand retail?! By the time they get to the States, even with a proxy they'll be $1500. Come on, I have to draw the line somewhere. I guess they can't all be winners...

  5. Possibly similar to a bespoke service like Lobb, E. Green, Crockett & Jones, etc? That would be incredible but I would assume they would charge more. I'm sure those gloves are nice but I'm not Steve McQueen.

  6. The previously posted boots are nice but are almost ruined by the white sole. The upper definitely reminds me more of an Alden work boot than a red wing and that could be cordovan leather which is always pricey. Maybe that's why they retail for over $800. I'd like to see the brown ones, but to me, they should have gone with a more formal sole. My mustard virgils arrived and they are everything I could hope for in a boot. I got a pair of mastermind japan boots for around half the price I paid for the virgils and although I like the visvims more, the masterminds are comparable in quality, craftsmenship, etc. Someone asked if paying over $850 for a pair is worth it and I say no because there is no pair of shoes that can justify that price. When you reach this level of luxury there are always diminishing returns. Ultimately, although the quality is top notch and they look great, you are paying for the name and the peace of mind that you will probably never see anyone wearing your shit. If you have the disposable income I say pull the trigger regardless because they'll probably last you a lifetime...or until the obsession is focused somewhere else.

  7. Mastermind Japan tan suede boots. I actually grabbed a subtle pair off yoox and a lot of there stuff is about as corny as it gets with skull and bones prints etc. but I was blown away by the quality and construction of these boots. Seriously light as a feather, sturdy, and responsive. I have some dark mustard virgils en route to the states so I'll have to compare, but for now they're the best boots I own. Also white visvim logan mid elk. I won't wear them until summer but I was happy to finally get a pair.

  8. This is possibly a dumb question and I know socks are frowned upon with fbts, kiefers, etc, but does anyone go sockless wih their 7holes or serras? It would seem odd to me to wear boots without socks but let me know your experiences. Thanks in advance.

  9. not drastically enough considering that was on yoox for around 400 bucks. i remember seeing your original asking price a few months ago and i literally lol'ed .

    oh, free bump

No disrespect but I bought the jacket from yoox for $780 around this time last year and my explanation for the original asking price is earlier in this thread. No one challenged me on the rarity of the jacket, its brand new condition, and the fact that it is arguably the greatest jacket visvim ever produced so I assumed either people didn't care or didn't bother. $700 is less than I paid for the thing and I'm not sure where you got $400 from but I think you might be mistaken.

  10. Has anyone heard anything more about the 7-hole '73-folk boots that are set to release later this year? From what I could tell from visvim's website they are running to a us12 this season. I need a size 12 in my life so any info would be great.
