  1. Those are ugly. Cargo pants should never be made out of denim. EVER!

I wouldn't go so far as to call them "cargo pants". They look more like a cross between 20's Navy denim (wide leg w/lace up back) and WWII Marine Corps HBT pants (pockets anyway).

  2. dude i hate to say this to you but this season of mfsc is not for everybody and definitely not for you, you look like a ninja turtle on that outfit, sorry dude just an observation.wear that outfit one at a time dude.

DAMN! What's that saying my mother told? If you don't have something nice to say STFU! Seriously, dude.

new tanner belt with stainless steel hardware!

I'm allergic to metal, and I've had a rash on my stomach for like a few years now. I think I'm finally free from it! Stoked!

I think I'm going to just use it unoiled.. unless anyone has any suggesstions?

You might want to use a small amount of saddle soap or other conditioner to keep the belt from drying out after a few months. You can surely wait until it's broken in though!

  4. I bought this one in London a while back but haven't really been wearing it since I soaked myself in a splash ride which has left a stain on pretty much the whole lower half of the belt. Tried oiling the belt to even out the stain but I guess the result isn't as effective as I'd hoped.

I would recommend cleaning the belt with Lexol leather cleaner and then conditioning the belt either with saddle soap or another conditioner (Lexol makes one also). You could also either soak the belt in leather or use a damp/wet cloth to moisten the rest of the belt. The idea is to get the same "color" going throughout the belt. If you wet the belt again, be sure to let it dry out slowly. Heating the leather can cause the leather to dry out and crack (worse thing to do with wet shoes/boots too).

  5. Very cool! I'm a big fan of that style. Do you know much about the history of those belts?

Yeah, studded belts have been around forever (leather and studs have been used in armor for centuries). The western/motorcycle style belts gained popularity in the United States starting in the 1930's and went all the way into the early 1960's. Earlier versions of the belts often have a belt buckle with Navajo symbol (similar to a swastika) that was deleted after the US became involved in WWII. There are a few makers of these belts today, but no large commercial manufactures make the traditional belts like the did in the mid 20th century. Almost every old catalog I have from that era has a few styles available for sale in them. I'll try to get some old pics and post them on here for you.

  6. Hey! First post on here! Just found this amazing site and have been intrigued ever since. I've been collecting LVC/Lee/Sugar Cane/Edwin and vintage denim for about 10 years. I'm also making leather belts and this thread is right up my ally. Here's a few I've made:

I specialize in vintage style stud belts, but could make pretty much anything I've seen in this thread. Not trying to spam, just show some enthusiasm!

    cheers,
