The detachable 'cape' on this mackinaw is, in my opinion, a really nice detail that really sets this jacket apart from this 'season's' version which Zubin posted.

With an increasing interest in product design, production and quality I have began wondering which manufacturing facilities are considered the best in the world?

For example, the production facilities used by Visvim (Japan) and Wing + Horns (Canada), respectively, are notorious for their quality - what I want to know is the names and locations of these, and many other high-quality, production facilities as I do not seem to be able to find anything useful on the 'net.

To be more precise I am looking to become familiar with the premier manufacturing facilities, withing their field; whether it be footwear manufacturers in Italy, jeans from Japan or outerwear from Canada.
