  1. SG1109 w/ tabs. Tagged 32. Warm soaked. Unworn. $SOLD

A little experiment for me, but it didn't quite work out. Soaked. Tried on and worn around house for ~30min max.

    Incredible denim.

    Knee: 8

$250/shipped USA. PM for internatonal quotes.

Open to trade offers for similar quality, but in a cut closer to Studio D'Artisan SD1001, Warehouse 660 or 3sixteen+ 30BSP (the cut I'll be moving on to...).

  2. Back w/ a follow up. Thanks again for the input a bit ago, and a pre-emptive apology for the crappy pics (nighttime, indoors).

Soaked my 1109s. Hot for the top block only for 20 min, lukewarm for the whole pair for another 20. Wore them while damp for some flex in the thigh. After they dried and a couple days passed, the waist still felt a little big. I had not worn them at all--just tried them on around house a bit--so I hot soaked just the top blok (waist to crotch) for 20 min or so again.

Here they are. Waist is still quite a bit bigger than I'd like and it sort of feels like they will "pouch" in the crotch area--more fabric there than I'd like. So, not sure they are totally right after all and am on the fence about keeping them but thought I'd throw up a pic...

  3. I really appreciate all the input. These are tagged 32 SG 1109s FWIW, so yodah's measurements are very helpful for reference. I would usually take a tagged 31 in most raw denim, but when the thighs are slimmer I need a little more room.

I will defintely need a full inch or 1.25 of shrinkage in the waist to bring it closer to true 32, but the fit in the top block overall feels good.

They are snug at the lower thigh into the knee--basically a perfect fit unsoaked, not too tight, snug but comfortable. I am just trying to gauge it overall against how much they will shrink after soak.

To regedit's point, I would guess they will be quite snug in the lower thigh after a soak, but if a solid .5" (or even a little more) was to come back with wear, I think they'd be a great fit after some wear. I'd probably wear them when wet after the soak to help stretch them a little when wet at the snug points.

  4. I just picked up some 1109s on the forum & unsoaked they seem right on for a post-soak fit w/ one concern--at and right above the knee they at a little more snug than I'd like when I think about shrinkage.

Can anyone speak to how much stretch I can expect once soaked in that area if they are on the snug side there? I don't mind enduring some discomfort if i can get them back close to this fit, but if there's no way they'll get even close I might leave them unsoaked and look to sell them.

Accounting for waist stretch is always a little easier than other spots so wanted to get any member input.

  5. you had the luxury of buying them in person at the shop, and the guys definitely know their stuff so i would trust their sizing advice. even if you were able to button up the 33's you might not have had enough room to soak it down. if they suggested 34 + hot soak, do it and i'm sure you will end up fine.

Just chiming in here to second Andrew's advice. I went with a 33, to fit a 32" waist, and his advice was spot on. Hot soak defintely brings all the measurements very close in line w/ the SE size chart for one size down from tagged size. Incredible denim.

Sadly, after much consideration I have to admit that my 33s are too tight in my thighs--thus the FS in my sig. (pardon self promotion)

  6. SOLD SOLD SOLD

I'm sad to have to part with these, since I was among the first people to get a pair, but they are too slim for my thighs.

They were hot soaked initially, so all shrinkage should be accounted for.

They have about 20-25 days of wear max; no signs of wear.

A quick cold soak will reset the knee creases and you'll be good to go.

Amazing hand to these. They are hefty in wight yet supple after some wear.

Johan and Andrew both say the aging on this denim looks amazing over time.

  8. Thanks Shorty & Setterman. Much appreciated. I did measure them, and they do come out below a true 34" but not by a lot. I may see if I can exchange for a 33 or even a 32. TTS 32 is golden for me.

Would love to try on some '67 505s... Thinking that may be a good combo of medium thigh (not too skinny, not loose), w/ smaller leg opening. Seeking 32" waist, ~12" thigh and ~8" leg opening...

  9. Can anyone confirm if the more/most recent batches of '47s are still shrinking a full 2" in the waist over a few soaks (I know they tend to shrink more over multiple soaks)? I picked up with a pair of 34x34s that I would really need to come down to a tue 32" in the waist.

Would rather not soak (and just return) if I can't be sure to get them down that much...

    Thanks in advance...
