  1. Pardon the intrusion. Mostly lurking these days but I decided I needed a size up in a pair of the 2nd edition of the 30BSP. If anyone's seeking a very lightly worn pair of those in size 30, hit me up. I picked up a 31 from SEPDX and they are wearing in nicely.

  2. I've been holding off on a pair of 3009s until the fall, but this new Roy release has me curious. As Kiya has said, none of the previous releases (except maybe the Buck-Tite) were what I was after, but this one sounds really good.

How's the rise compared to the 3sixteen+ 30BSP? Similar?

  3. Go to wine country. Much good comes of it. I usually hit this taco truck for lunch to establish a base for pinot noir grapes to marinate within.

    Anyone have favorite vineyards?

I like to stop in Chehelam and get started by asking them where to hit up that day. Usually involves some free tasting tickets.

    Colene clemens for the rose

Sokol Blosser has a interesting tasting room.

The new Sokol Blosser facility is amazing, esp. if you like architecture/design. And my friend is the winemaker at Colene Clemens so I'll second that recco for sure.  Any of the wineries in the Dundee hills are worth visiting: Cameron, Domaine Drouhin Oregon, Erath, Winderlea, Maresh, Lange, Bergstrom, etc. Check out Fire + Flood in Newberg, too.

  4. Dude, go for the 3009.  you'll thank me... its such a great cut and very small leg openings/strong tapers don't even look good.  The 3009 is the perfect combination of comfort and slimness without sacrificing a natural look.

Thanks. I'm leaning that way. I don't like super strong tapers, but I'm long and lean, so some taper helps me. But I'm leaning towards just the blend you're talking about!

  5. I did some searching in the thread, but I'm looking for a little more comparison between the 3009 and the 3002. I've tried on the 3009 and like the fit a lot. It's what I was planning on getting but then started looking at the 3002 for a smaller hem.

Are the top blocks nearly the same? I'd take a 32 in the 3009 and I don't really want anything slimmer in the thigh, but a little more taper below the knee could be just right.

  6.

I've been to both, as well as Vinnie's at the Ford and they are all pretty solid. Bart's is cheap and they are great, but it's a crap shoot to get in and you could wait quite a while (all walk-in, and they take their time, but in a good way). Modern Man is nice, but I had a better haircut at Vinnie's TBH.

  7. ^ this is sound advice. soak can help soften and get ride of some starch but you won't really get any true shrinkage w/ sanforized denim. Just stretch, then w/ a soak you can tighten them back to the pre soak fit.

  8. anyone been to township & range on hawthorne? just opened, heard their burger is worth hollering at.

Biwa is servin their burger all day friday night.

Also, trying to find a good bday spot to bring the fam of 6 - that takes reservations. Trying ox, but some conflicts, any other suggestions for a hearty 30th bday meal? Ive done laurelhurst, st jack, pigeon, little bird, nostrana ect....

    What am i missing?

Does your family really like food? If so, you should hit D.O.C. It's pretty stellar.

Not for nothing, but have you been to the "old standbys?" Wildwood, Higgins', Paley's Place? They got their reputations for a reason, though I admit I've not eaten at any of those three in the last year...

  9. cause they dont. they simply arent even in the same park as samurai. its like comparing a hyundai turbo to a porsche turbo. they can doll up that korean pos up as much as they want but it just aint the same thing.

Oh please. Tell us more about turbo jeans.

  10. Right on! They are really fantastic jeans. I was sad to let them go.

(The cut is *nearly* perfect for me. I want the cut of the 30BSP from the waist to lower thigh, then a slight narrower knee and more taper to hem. If anyone knows what cut this is, by all means PM me. I think it might actually be Flat Head 3009, sized down one...)

  11. Sorry, I missed this. I'll need to compare the knee/hem to confirm, but yes, otherwise they fit consistent w/ the site measurements.

They fit me great overall, but I just want something w/ the same top block and even more taper from knee to hem

  12. business trip tomorrow by myself. staying in Downtown. where should I eat?

Eating solo at Cylde Common has always been pleasant for me. Gruner is also rock solid. Higgins is old school in the bar, in the best way. Ping down in Old Town is fun--good drinks and Asian street food style. Oven & Shaker for pizza and good cocktails. Riffle for killer seafood.
