  1. basically since halo 3 you've been able to login with your XBL info on bungie.net, see lifetime stats (like ratios, headshots, total kills) for each weapon, map, gametype, etc. and then compare all that side by side with your friends or pros or whatever. you also have heatmaps that show where you die/kill a lot as well as which playlists you do best in.

honestly it was KIND OF cool like 4 years ago, but between the smoke being blown and the pricing structure I agree with the gaf:

  3. about the psych thing hap, I would go for it if it's something that even remotely stands out against its alternatives. definitely as practical as history, english etc, if not more...

at my callcenter tech support job, the coolest person I've come in contact with so far was a guy with degrees in psych and business from a po-dunk school, like three kids, and with less years than 50% of the people he works with. He's the site manager or something and while I'm sure he doesn't love what he does a ton, he seems chill and happy to interact with any of the randos he sees daily.

  4. alice in wonderland 2 is going to be awesome, the alan wake fan in me thinks...they just released a comic app for the iphone etc. which was kinda weird but cool if you've never messed with the interactive storytelling setup. The real news, however, is that every copy of alice 2 includes a code for the original, ultra rare, PC game from american mcghee. T-minus 1 month!

  5. wtf are you meaning by that man???

vaclav was the shit and wished me a happy birthday last year while I don't know what your OP was getting at at all; vaclav gave you something to actually read at least. the pony guys can be all right imo..it's not like anyone on sufu is shoving that unicorn shit down your throat anyway...where you spending you time man

  6. So i'm 5 for 5 at yelling at my tv while watching this show. pretty sure that at least 2 times it's been that fuckin jaime lannister + epithets....

oh and how did it take people this long to recognize carcetti?! him + anons on 4chan raving about ASOFAI were the only reason I thought to try that preview ep.

  7. ^yeah! mikey or whoever, the kid whose parents die and no one gives a shit lol. That's a good interpretation of that scene though I don't really see how he qualifies as he's still in the capital and everything... Spoilers aside, are we going to see some sort of movement with the dothraki plotline this season? I think I'm going to sit these books out even though I hear they're good, but like I was saying last page if this whole season is about stark vs. lancaster and the slowburn at the wall I'll just sit back and enjoy the acting.

  8. wait what was king robert saying at the end of that preview? is that a reference to dersyre(sp - the "dragon")??

waiting for the global stuff to go down is what's going to make waiting weeks at a time really be tough for me - I could burn through the whole series in a weekend if netflix had it I feel like.

  9. just chanced onto this so thought I'd share: starting tomorrow hulu+ is on XBL, for free, as long as you have gold/silver. In a week you'll have to log into hulu to extend your trial for another week and after that it's back to a buy-in program. pretty cool deal though I thought.

edit: BREAKING NEWS BREAK: Portal 2 at kmart/gamestop for $35/40 respectively or 30 bucks on PC, this Sunday!! kopping!!

  10. ^eva green is less obvious than that piece of ass (and I don't even know who that is)

came here to post eva green just because she's not in much AKA less obvious. but I think if you see a girl in a film or tv show and immediately think damn she is now dominating this scene for me...she's probably obvious

  11. I think that the lens is just really tightly focused in Catcher and that's why a lot of people are put off - if you can't relate to such a barrage of stream-of-consciousness that's so critical and reflective, you are going to write off the majority of that book. I think that Salinger is justly praised for just this sort of commitment to his own struggle for answers that he isn't really sure are relevant or not, however.

In one sense the book is definitely a cookie-cutter HS novel that has a lot of imagery and overt themes, but I think if you're willing (and able to) to kind of lose yourself in the plot and the slow-burn of Holden's 48-hour struggle (which I wasn't even aware was occurring as I read it), then you can sort of appreciate how you might feel if you were in that character's path/place.
