  1. I dont live in a country that has a levis store that sells lvc, please dont call me lazy without knowing wtf you are talking about.

I'm from Canada. If I found some I was going to have them shipped to a relative in the US but they told me that the credit card used had to have the same address as where it is going to be shipped.

  2. I talked to the Alabama store and the still had a few pairs of the 47 left in 32x34 and 31x34. Their number is 205-967-2065.

I've been trying to find a 34 waist in 47's so if anybody knows where I can get them, I would appreciate the tip. Also, if anybody knows a store that carries the 1955's (in any sizes), I would appreciate that info also. Thanks.

  3. Bumping an old thread, but it's a good one. I ordered these and their grey sweatshirt through the same mail order process as I<3Bacon last Saturday. They called back Sunday and I got the package (in upstate NY) on Tuesday. Shipping was really cheap and these are probably worth twice as much as I paid too.

nicolazaro: Can you post a picture of the grey vintage sweatshirt? I'm trying to get one but it would be nice too see an actual pic. Also, do you know if they had a wide variety of the vintage chinos (I've emailed them to order but haven't heard back yet)? Does anybody know if these are going to be a permanent item? Thanks.

    back rise 14.5

    thigh 11.5

    inseam 28.5

Are these the new 1947 inspired cut as they look slimmer than the older version? I think you can tell by a white patch sewn into the back.waistband that says 501.

  5. Are those from pomata?

No. I bought them off ebay. Here's some pictures.

[For anyone: I got a pair of 55's in a size 34. My waist went down an inch since I got them but they still fit well in the waist and legs. The butt, however, is baggy and the extra material sticks out a bit. Just wondering if this is just the nature of 55's due to the higher rise? Will this calm down a bit after wear and maybe tighten up after first wash? I'm not sure if I should keep these or get a pair of 32 or 33 waist and sell these. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks again]

  6. Thanks everybody for answering my questions. I haven't checked sufu for a while so the thanks are belated.

Reggie Died: You said you were in Canada and bought your jeans from Cultizm. Did you get hit with any duties/customs charges?

  7. I would like the thighs on my 55's to be just a bit less loose (maybe .25-.5 inch if measured across the front of the thigh). Does anybody know if the thighs will tighten up (shrink) when they are eventually machine washed?

Also, does anybody know how the 47's compare in fit to APC rescues (mainly in the thighs)?

    Thanks.

  8. Can someone tell me the cheapest place to get Rescues (discounts included)? I would prefer not to pay full price of $155. I know denimbar has a 20% discount. Anything better out there? Thanks in advance for the help.

  9. I know for a fact that in the past year, levis carried 5 types of 501s STF's

    1. LVC 1947 501XX - Selvage. Retail price was 175

    2. Limited Edition 1947 501 Non Selvage. Retail price was $98, went on sale for $50, now back to $98 (Levi's Mich. Ave Chicago had a stack of these in all sizes last time i checked a week ago)

Just a question about these Limited ed 47 jeans. I have a pair and am wondering about the fading. The inside/underlying thread color (I'm a newbie to denim so I don't know the terminology - weft maybe?) is a goldish/yellow (not white like most jeans). Does that mean when these fade, that will be the color that will show? Thanks.

  10. Just wondering about soaking and putting these in a dryer to shrink before I wear. Does using the dryer have any negative effects on the fading possibilities of LVC denim? I asked this in the 501 stf thread but would like to know if it would affect higher end denim also. Thanks.

  11. I'm new to raw denim and wanted to try these out before I move on to more expensive jeans. Just wondering about soaking and putting these in a dryer to shrink before I wear. Does using the dryer have any negative effects on the fading possibilities?
