  1. Colette might seem a bit less 1998 when it re-opens after the current refurb, but teaming up with Gap won't exactly help.

I love the idea of Colette but every time I go it is so full of tourists you can hardly move, and it seems more like a design museum than a store, especially since the staff are basically there to tell you not to touch rather than to help you buy things.

I think it's more amazing in France where they don't have much 'concept' retail (read big windows and minimalist interiors which are totally normal in less traditonal parts of the world) so it still seems quite edgy there.

  2. There is such a disparity between Balenciaga women's and men's. The women's is fucking amazing, Ghesquière has gone from strength to strength over the last few seasons from the minimalist riding hats and capes, to the unbelievable shoes, to those incredible florals, but the men's is so blah and uninspired (they don't even carry it in most Balenciaga stores), although they occasionally make a good pair of high-tops. I wish the men's would reflect the women's more, not in terms of looking like it but in terms of the creativity put into it because at the moment it's just a shitty add on.

This collection is kind of ugly, but like ugly amazing.

  3. I tried a spray of the new(ish) Jil Sander Man (Raf Simons' first men's fragrance) in a store yesterday and what really struck me about it was how longlasting it was (on my skin anyway) becuase I could still smell it strongly many hours later which is not the case with the vast majority of other fragrances.

  4. Does anyone know of any people/companies that you can pay to cop hard to find fashion items from past seasons for you? There's got to be someone who does this/a market for it, coz ebay/second hand stores are not much good if you're after something specific.
