Nice to see someone else who geeks out over clamps. I'm a photography assistant so they sit in my daily kit bag!

Flathead 3001 - 10 months - presoak + 1 or 2 washes. They've taken quite a beating, so I'm sending them off for repairs. Hopefully I'll be back wearing them soon.

I received a pair of Flat Head 3001's from Danny at Rivet & Hide. Amazing service, super fast postage and a hand written thank you note! What else can you ask for? Highly recommended!

 

Received my Flat Head 3001s from Danny @ Rivet and Hide (He included a hand written note, now that's customer service!) Thanks to everyone who gave me sizing advice a few pages back. I ended up going for a size 30, pretty much TTS - there was approx 1" of room in the waist pre-soak. Soaked them for 2 hours and fit perfectly now, the waist is slightly tight but not too uncomfortable. I absolutely love the material and fit, such an upgrade from my APC NS.

The reason i'm going for the 3001 is that it is available in the UK so I won't need to pay customs tax. I currently have APC New Standard size 28 and my true waist is about 30". I want a leg opening of around 7.5" for my new pair. I want a slim but not skinny fit, I wear desert boots quite often and don't like them with skinny jeans. Does the leg opening shrink after a hot soak? From the size chart here - http://rivetandhide.com/brands/the-flat-head/3001.html - I think i'd go for a size 30, what do you think? Thank you!

I'm new to The Flat Head, i'm looking to get a pair of 3001s and need some sizing advice. I know they're unsanforized so will need a soak before wearing, how much do they usually shrink? Also how much do they usually stretch out with wear? Thanks

Thanks for the replies, the flat head 3001 is looking extremely tempting. Would it be worth paying extra for the heavier denim on the 1001?

Help me sufu I have way too much choice. Used to have a pair of LVC 501 1947s which I loved the quality of but the fit wasn't exactly what I was looking for. Decided to go for a pair of APC New Standards which were great fit wise but the quality isn't the best, i've completely destroyed the 2 front pocket bags and one back pocket within a year. I'm on the look out for a new pair of jeans under £200 (GBP).

I want a slim fit (waist size 30), selvage and raw. Leg opening around 7.5". Reinforced / thick pocket bags and lined back pockets would be a plus. I've had a look around and came across some Momotaro Japan Blues but the cut seemed slightly too skinny.

I'm looking for a pair of mid-range priced slim fitting jeans. I have previously owned APC New Standards, Naked & Famous Slim Guy and LVC 1947 501s. Out of all of them my favourite was the LVC 1947s but I would like to try something different and a bit slimmer! My budget is £150 GBP and the store must ship to the UK. I'm currently looking at Flat Head F310 on Self Edge but they are just out of budget! What are my other options?

I just recieved my LVC 1947 but don't have a bath tub. Will they still shrink normally if they are soaked folded and put in a container? Replies ASAP please

Just ordered my lvc 1947...cant wait.

i was going to buy a pair of lvc 1947s but have been struggling to find them in my size. The 1955 engineer are just cheaper than the 1947s but are very nice looking. Do shrink after a soak or are they sanforized? Has anyone got a worn pair they have photos of?
