  1. It was probably just as selective when I applied as it is now, though I think now that they take the common app a lot more people are applying.

Well, my HS gpa was 4.0 unweighted and something like 4.8 with the wonky system my HS used; I didn't have outstanding test scores either like mid 700s on the SATs and chemistry, bio and math subject tests. I would say that my admissions essays were pretty good, just the general bullshit about urban campus, meeting diverse people, liberal education...etc.

It's good you applied ED since they accept much more from that pool that the normal admissions, plus you get two shots at it if you don't make it the first time.

Did they request an interview with you? I got an email from an alum today saying she wants to meet up with me. >< My valedictorian friend applied ED too and she didn't get one. Is this a bad thing, like they need an interview to see if they want me at their school? I'm nervous like hell.

  2. University of Pennsylvania C'07, currently working on campus at the Med School before grad school...

    I wear:

    Naked&Famous Slim Guy Black Selvage

How selective was the process when you applied? Did you have a higher GPA than my sperm count, or were your essays Nobel Prize worthy? I applied Early Decision, and I could use some moral support. :\

  3. Best to me is based on the article I pulled off US World and News. They ranked them based on resources and whatever, but the most important thing was the amount of recruiters and job offers that undergrads get. I don't want to go job hunting after college, so this path makes me pretty much set.

They'll notify me on the 15th of Dec. We'll see. Trying not to jinx it.

  4. Yeah, don't do the really generic ones that everyone's done before. And god please, if they ask you to write one on why you wanna get in, don't use the (insert college here) will be the key that will unlock the door to my success line. I heard a college admissions officer dies of high blood pressure every time someone writes that.

  5. Turned in my Early Decision app for UPenn yesterday. I applied for the Wharton School of Business, hopefully I can get in, not sure if I'm competitive enough scores-wise, but my essays definitely kick ass, even if I do say so myself. (:

    Also applying to:

MIT (2nd best business school in the country, pretty surprising)

    NYU

    Carnegie Mellon

    Berkeley

  6. My Literature teacher has a pair of those B&L Wayfarers. I asked him where he got them, and he told me about this antique shop around here that deals with antique frames and frames that have been used in films. I may have to go there for my next pair.

  7. Hey I think I have what you're looking for. I have a size 30 lot 10, which I have worn for about 3 weeks. The honeycombs are creased, but I think if you iron them they will come out. No fading cept for a little on the corner of the butt pocket. They are the ones from BiG with hidden arcs, no tab, unhemmed. PM me if you want pics and measurements. It's a little tight in the waist for me, so you're just what I'm looking for. ^_^

  8. I missed a part, if someone would care to explain?

what was the story between dent and gordon?

what were they talking about in the hospital?

and what happened between them afterwords?

Gordon is the police commissioner, promoted after the Joker killed the first commish. Dent is the district attorney who is determined to bring all the mob bosses in Gotham to justice. They talk about him being the "white knight" because he is pretty much all that Gotham has against the crime bosses. Batman sees Dent as his way of retiring Batman, and therefore winning Rachel back. Dent and Gordon don't trust each other, and Dent thinks there are moles inside Gordon's police unit.

The Joker and Dent talk about how Rachel is killed, and the Joker convinces him to go on a killing spree against all those responsible for Rachel's death, like the corrupt cops.
