  1. I just purchased the PBJ xx-007 from BiG. I'm a true waist size of 31. The legs and crotch fit well after the hotsoak, but there is considerable room in the waist with stretching, even though I wear a belt. Should I have sized down 1? I like a slim fit but nothing too tight, and especially I need to have enough room for the balls.

I wear size 31 in Fullcount 1108 and size 30 in Samurai 710 (though I wish I bought 31 for a less tight fit).

  2. i bought my sam 710xx in november of 2008. with tax and freight it went to about 240. now, they're around 50 bucks more expensive. everything went through a price hike. was that only at big or also at SE and take5?

anyway, i only wore them for about a month when i gave up on them because they were too tight (i'm a 31-waist, but i sized down to 30w). i'm happy now, 1.75 years later, because i can wear them and they fit perfectly. :D

  3. THIS IS IT!__ would need another 6 mos of effective wear to properly prime & get them [really] going, but .... oh well.

    #004 = 1108C :: self-installed red tab&arcs [low-profile].

    start date: 03/27/09 :: end date: 03/17/10 [ 11mos + 20days x 5 washes ]

  4. The pbj007 is the same cut as the 005 but with a dyed weft. The 005 does come in bk, but isn't very tapered.

Check out Skulls, TFH, and I think 3sixteen just came out with a very nice bk. APC NS comes in black, as do plenty of Nudiezzz if you're into that.

    thanks for the recommendation!

i might just go with the pbj 007 (fear it looks like i'm wearing navy blue dickies)

and maybe get a pair of the black slim skulls too.

  5. just washed it after owning it for 7 months, probably 4 months solid wear...

all combs gone... very little fade marks from combs... whiskers still apparent...

but at least thank god it's squeaky clean now and not that weird soft/slick/damp feeling :)

  6. adding to the hype of the jeans..

i love them too, wearing them everyday basically. just that i should wash them soon as they feel kinda gross, it's been since august of wearing them of really sporadic to everyday wear.. guess i'll just wait another six months before washing eh

    somehow they're kinda itchy, and i think it's because it's dirty o___O

    i should wash them.

  7. dealing with some of the customers was a real pain in the ass though i wont lie.. just one example, that guy akuma ta oeihrgih3 whatever came in one day mouthin off about his SE jawns, asking if BiG carried flat head or some shit? and asking about the lawsuit this lawsuit that, "you guys got some pairs with tabs back there you save? blah blah". believe me, the doods in there have heard it all enough, mad old..

also, any of you fucks going in there to try on pairs to get your sizing down just so you can go order a pair from overseas with arcs and a tab, they know who you are, and you ain't too popular.

hahah thanks for this story, made me laugh... can't believe there are people who go around introducing themselves as their forum aliases

  8. not seeing some douche bag with the same pair of jeans, shirt, or belt as me within a 250 mile radius.

lol are you shitting me-- I'm not anal, i just don't want anyone to be wearing an article of clothing the same as mine within the same state

and yeah, i know the subtle differences, but if u look at them all together they're basically look the same

except for that one pair of new sda's they got going for around 200 bucks... that one's a pretty cool pair.

  9. laughter95, see what im saying? those are 3-4 YEARS. thats why noobs who be posing dont last long on the 'raw denim fad' and go back to sneaks. this aint no ' go to BIG today, post on evo thread tomorrow' shit. grail jeans takes patience and dedication. good thing is, once they start fading they dont stop. they fade faster and faster usually, or @least it seems that way since wear/fading is cumulative.

eh i still don't think i'll go back to non j-brands just because i know what i could buy at the same price point for 7fam and all that--

but i wouldn't have a problem wearing distressed jeans from j-brands that have logical, convincing distressing.

  10. yeah.... i'd be pretty bored to sit among stacks of super-expensive jeans that all basically look the same and dealing with anal denim nerds all the time.

so i guess i feel for him... thanks for helping me to see it from his viewpoint.

  11. every time i've been to blue in green it's always the black dude (don't know the guy's name) and noriko working. noriko is always very nice, humble.

however, the black dude is grumpy and bitchy... don't get what's his problem...

am i the only one who feels this way?

  12. went to the soho store ... mercer and something, on the corner.

surprised to find that the only jeans in the store to be found were in the back right corner. not that many o/w jeans, no raw i don't think. the sa didn't seem to know much about the jeans either. i was surprised as i thought this was an uber-passionate jeans brand.

anyway, after handling a couple o/w -- the one i looked at most closely was the one with a back pocket modeled after lee jeans-- i don't get why they command such a huge price! ... really i don't get why they're so "special"

i know the story behind the company, the zimbabwe, the artisanal craftsmanship... but i can't tell the difference by handling and studying them.

  13. This thread needs more pics......

Same 'ol Jins. I kinda wanna start wearing something else now.

so if i live normally in my jeans - walking, sitting, standing, i'll get them like this eventually? i'm wearing the 710 jean for a month and definitely no fading, don't expect to see it for many more months. i also wore fc 1108 for 4 months everyday and no real fading either, so.... maybe i'll just accept dark plain jeans

  14. i don't get how people wear their jeans "hard"-- especially with the 19oz heavy denim, i don't see myself ever getting these ridiculous fades since i never do anything special to "wear them hard" -- i'm a student that spends most of his time sitting in class or sitting at a desk studying...

i just figure that the only way to get these jeans so faded is if i constantly played sports in them or if i did some blue collar job...

  15. i'm pretty sure

*NEW Studio D'Artisan Jeans - Heavy Ounce Low/Mid Rise Slim Fit

was what i tried on in the store the other day. it's really low, something i'm not used to. and the denim is pretty smooth. nice streaky look to it. really cool, actually. plenty of crotch room.

unique enough from all the other jeans to warrant a purchase i think.

but now i've got two pair and i'm set for the next year or two-- a heavy denim and light one so that's why i didn't get em.

  16. Ahem... hate buying gifts for this girl... she's been everywhere in the world and has weird finicky tastes about different things-- anyway, I want to get her something small, cute, charming, and of nice quality. I'd love to spend less than $50 bucks (the occasion isn't a big thing, she's just coming back from a month-long trip) but I found a small wallet at Coach which goes for $98:

    http://www.coach.com/content/product.aspx?product_no=11845&category_id=1271

I guess my limit is $100. What do you all think of the item? The thing is, I'm not positive if she'll use it because she currently uses something bigger than this to keep all her crap... If I got it I'd hope she'd use it for when she doesn't want to carry something big.

Does anyone know of possibly better alternatives/ideas? Thanks for the help.
