How's the sizing on leather Varvatos Purcells? Some people say size up but zappos says size down?

Looking at the black pair on bluebee for 36 bucks.

I was looking at them too, but if you Google the model number (1S962), you'll find that they're regular Converses, not by JV. The Converse website says they run true to size, but I don't know. If it helps, I recently bought a pair of canvas Varvatos Purcells in my true size, and they fit me, but barely.

^ah, didn't know they made both viscose and non-viscose tees. weird, because the site i linked is the same that scoute.org had in their t-shirt feature last month, where they mentioned that the tee was viscose.

VG has new CON shoes in stock. disappointed by how low stock levels are in small sizes, if anyone knows where I can pick up some XS rotten apple viscose tees in black and white please let me know.

How should you size for 710bks for a slim fit?

Gordon from BiG told me they fit the same as the S710XX everywhere but the waist, where they're slightly larger. So true to size, unless you want a really slim fit.

I'm looking to buy a Converse by John Varvatos Jack Purcell Vintage, but I don't know how they fit. I asked the store about sizing, and they told me the heel-to-toe lengths of the shoes in sizes 9 and 9.5. I'm waiting for a response from another store about the 8.5's size. I know I fit fine into a regular pair of Chucks in size 8, but don't own any and can't find the measurement of them myself.

So, quick question to anyone with a regular Converse Chuck Taylor in size 8 (US): can you measure the heel to toe length (including the outer white band) of this pair of Chucks?

Alternatively, if anyone knows how the Purcells I'm looking at buying fit, please let me know, haha.

I currently own a pair of APC New Standards which fit me pretty well (I sized down two). How do the S710 and S5000 fit compared to the NS?

EDIT: Basically, what I'm asking is are the S710 (not sized down) and S5000 (sized down two) pretty comparable in fit as far as slimness goes? Or is the S5000 still pretty boxy compared to the NS and/or S710?
